Back to the Underground Club: Carnage

Chapter 51 by foxloversi

Two vampiresses sauntered down the dimly lit street, their laughter echoing off the brick walls of abandoned storefronts. The cool night air brushed against their flushed cheeks, a stark contrast to the heat they had left behind in the club. The moon descended towards the horizon, stretching out shadows as she readied for another shift exchange with her brighter counterpart.

"Maria, I got to say Jacob was something else," Rachel said, her voice tinged with satisfaction. "The way he handled me... damn."

"Yeah?" Maria replied, a sly smile playing on her lips. "He was already a bit too weak and sluggish when I had my turn, at least you had a blast with him."

"Blast ain't even the word," Rachel laughed, her tongue flicking over her fangs. "It was wild, girl. I even forgot about the option of draining him. Just feeding and fucking him was completely enough to keep me going."

"Well, that's good, Rach. I'm proud of you, this level of self control is exactly what I wanted you to achieve," Maria said, genuinely impressed. She knew how hard it was for Rachel to control her bloodlust, especially during such intense moments. "Maybe there’s hope for you yet."

"Thanks, mom. Means a lot coming from you." Rachel nudged her playfully. "And hey, your boy Igor? He seemed pretty into you too."

"Ugh, don't remind me, I don’t like how we parted," Maria groaned, her thoughts drifting back to the enigmatic man who had captivated her tonight. "Igor was... different. There was something about him that just gets under my skin."

"Different good or different bad?" Rachel asked, curiosity piqued.

"I don’t know… both probably," Maria sighed, running a hand through her hair. She could still feel his cock, mouth and his hands exploring her body with an intensity that matched her own dark desires. "He's not like other humans I had up till now. It’s like... the corruption hasn't really touched him and he had no problem resisting me."

"That's rare," Rachel remarked, her tone more serious now. "But is that really a good thing?"

"Well that's the thing," Maria said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I don't know. It would probably be much easier if I could influence him to do whatever I wanted and then make him forget about this whole night. But there’s no way he’s forgetting all that. He's perfect in bed, matches me in ways I didn't think possible for a mere human. And he… accepts me and what I am. But... I don’t want him getting hurt."

"Shit, M, sounds like you caught feelings," Rachel teased, though there was an undercurrent of concern in her voice.

"Maybe I did," Maria admitted, her eyes clouding with worry. "But I can't let him fall into this world. It's dangerous. For him, for us... for everyone."

"Well, whatever you decide, just know I'll have your back," Rachel said, squeezing Maria's arm reassuringly. "We gotta stick together, right?"

"Yeah, we do," Maria agreed, feeling a bit lighter. The bond they shared was stronger than ever, and now that Rachel’s self-control didn’t seem such an issue anymore, the positive energy between them soared as well.

As they continued their walk, Maria's keen senses picked up on something unsettling. A chill ran down her spine as she discreetly glanced over her shoulder. Two shadowy figures trailed them at a cautious distance, their intentions murky but unmistakably sinister.

"Hey, Rach," Maria whispered, her voice barely audible. "I think we're being followed."

Rachel shot a quick, inconspicuous look behind them. "Shit, you sure?"

"Yeah," Maria confirmed, her eyes narrowing. "We need to move. Now."

They quickened their pace, heels clicking against the cobblestone streets in a rhythm that mimicked their rising anxiety. As they rounded a corner, Maria's heart sank. A trio of men emerged from the shadows ahead, blocking their path forward. Each one wore a predatory grin, their postures oozing confidence and menace.

"Great," Rachel muttered under her breath. "More company."

"Keep it together," Maria hissed, scanning for an escape route. Her gaze landed on a narrow alleyway to their right. "This way!"

Without waiting for a response, she darted toward the alley, Rachel hot on her heels. The darkness enveloped them, offering a fleeting sense of protection. But as they ventured deeper, their hopes were dashed. Halfway through, five more gang members materialized, cutting off their escape. They brandished bats and knives, the glint of a gun tucked into the waistband of the one in front of them catching Maria's eye.

"Fuck," Rachel breathed, backing up a bit until they stood shoulder to shoulder.

"Looks like we got ourselves some lost chicas," the guy with the gun sneered, his voice dripping with malice. He was apparently their leader. "Where's our stuff, huh? The drugs you stole from Ricardo?"

"Yeah, hand 'em over," another thug chimed in, waving his knife menacingly. "No funny business."

"Listen," Maria began, trying to sound calm despite the pounding of her undead heart. "We ain't got your shit. We can bring it back tomorrow. Just let us go, and no one gets hurt."

"That's not how this works, hermosa," the leader retorted, stepping closer. The scent of sweat and cheap cologne wafted off him, mingling unpleasantly with the dank air of the alley. "You mess with us, you pay the price."

"Yeah, you pay," echoed another gang member, his face twisted into a cruel smile.

"Look," Rachel said, her tone edged with desperation, "we don't want any trouble. We'll give you whatever you want, just let us go, alright?"

"Whatever we want, huh?" The leader leered, his eyes roaming over their bodies with a lascivious glint. "That sounds like a deal."

"Fuckin' pig," Rachel spat, her eyes flashing dangerously. Maria could feel her friend's rage bubbling beneath the surface, threatening to erupt.

"Easy, Rach," Maria murmured, placing a restraining hand on her arm. "Let's not make this worse."

"Too late for that," the leader grinned, pulling the gun from his waistband and pointing it directly at them. "Now, empty your pockets and hand over the goods and money. We’ll decide what we’ll do with you then. Or things get real messy, real fast."

"Shit," Rachel whispered, her eyes already darting around for any sign of escape. She knew the remaining coke would be far from enough for them to let them go, neither had they enough cash. They were trapped, surrounded by the entire cartel from both sides of the alley. The tension in the air was palpable, thick enough to slice through with the very knives their assailants wielded.

"What's it gonna be, ladies?" the leader demanded, cocking the gun with a click that echoed ominously through the alley. "Your lives or our stuff?"

Maria and Rachel exchanged a glance, their minds racing. Time slowed, the world narrowing to the grim faces of their attackers and the cold steel of the weapons they carried. The night, once filled with lust and carnal bliss, had turned into a gauntlet of survival. And the deadly dawn was not far off either.

Maria's heart pounded as she met Rachel’s gaze, a silent agreement passing between them like a whispered secret.

"Run," Maria hissed, her voice barely audible over the thudding of her own pulse.

They twisted on their heels, muscles tensing, preparing for the burst of speed only their kind could muster. For a fleeting moment, it felt as if they might escape unscathed through them, but as the insidious light began to creep into the sky, the first hints of sunrise stole away some of the supernatural strength that coursed through their veins. Maria could feel it, the power ebbing like a receding tide, leaving her vulnerable and exposed. Her legs were heavier, each step a bit harder to take.

With all the force she could muster, Maria surged forward through the widest hole between the gang, focusing solely on the narrow gap at the end of the alley. She could almost taste freedom when a sickening crack reverberated through the night. She whipped around just in time to see Rachel crumple to the ground, a gang member standing over her, bat still raised, its cruel edge glinting in the dim light.

"Rachel!" Maria screamed, her voice raw with desperation.

Adrenaline spiked through her, overriding the diminishing strength of her undead body. She sprinted back, every instinct screaming at her to protect her fallen friend.

"Get away from her!" Maria roared, her eyes blazing with fury.

The gang members hesitated for a moment, taken aback by the ferocity in her voice, but quickly recovered, closing in on her with malicious intent. Maria’s heart hammered wildly in her chest, each beat a countdown to the impending dawn. She had to act fast, before the sunlight robbed her of what little strength she had left.

"You want some too, chica?" one of them sneered, swinging his bat menacingly.

Maria dodged, narrowly missing the blow, her senses hyper-aware of every movement, every sound around her. Her eyes darted to Rachel, lying motionless, her face pale against the dark asphalt and blood flowing from a massive wound on her forehead. Rage bubbled up inside Maria, a growl tearing from her throat as she launched herself at the gang member nearest to her.

Maria fought with everything she had, punching and kicking everyone who dared come close enough, but the odds were stacked against her. She knew she was outnumbered, knew that each second brought them closer to the deadly embrace of dawn.

"Rachel, fucking wake up!" she yelled fervently, even as she fended off another attacker.

Time was running out, and so was her strength. But she couldn't—wouldn't—leave Rachel behind. Not now, not ever.

Maria's movements were fluid, almost poetic, as she dodged and parried blows from all sides.

Despite her supernatural agility, Maria felt the weight of their numbers pressing in. She kicked out, sending one thug sprawling, but another took his place immediately, swinging a knife that grazed her arm. Ignoring the sting, she spun around, her eyes briefly catching sight of Rachel still lying unconscious.

But they were relentless. A bat swung towards her; she ducked, only to be grabbed from behind. Two more thugs joined in, pinning her arms to her sides. She struggled fiercely, her strength waning. The leader stepped forward, a malicious grin spreading across his face as he pressed the cold barrel of a gun against her temple.

"Tranquila, muñeca," he sneered, his breath hot against her ear. "You’re strong and you fight good, I’ll give you that, but it’s time to surrender now."

Maria's mind raced. She could maybe overpower them in a fist fight, but the feel of the gun against her head gave her pause. Yes, she was immortal, but a bullet to the brain? That was an unknown risk she wasn't eager to take.

"Listen, pendeja," the leader continued, his tone dripping with cruel amusement. "You caused some trouble to my boys here. So now you're gonna apologize to my entire family here. And if you resist, I'll put a bullet in your pretty little head. Entiendes?"

She glared at him, a low growl rumbling in her throat. Every fiber of her being wanted to rip him apart, but she forced herself to remain still. The odds were stacked against her, and Rachel needed her. She couldn’t afford to make a reckless move.

"That's better," the leader chuckled darkly, tightening his grip on her. "Now, let's have some fun."

The gang closed in, their leering faces illuminated by the faint, ominous glow of the approaching dawn. Maria's heart thudded like a war drum in her chest as rough hands tore at her clothes, the fine fabric of her dress giving way with ease and she felt fingers groping her roughly. Her breath hitched, eyes darting to Rachel who lay sprawled on the ground, her face a mess of blood from a wound that would likely be fatal for a human. The gang members laughed, their voices a cacophony of cruel amusement echoing off the alley walls.

"Mírala! Tan bonita pero tan peligrosa," one jeered, his voice dripping with mockery.

Desperation clawed at Maria's insides. Time was slipping through her fingers like sand. Even if they somehow fought their way out of this hellish situation, could they outrun the deadly embrace of the sunrise? Each second felt like an eternity, a relentless march toward doom.

But right then, cutting through the hopeless agony like a blade, came the roaring sound of a motorbike. Maria's eyes widened in disbelief as she immediately recognized the biker.

Igor.

How? Why? There was no time for questions. As he approached on his Harley, she caught the glint of a gun in his arm.

"Qué diablos?!" one of the gang members shouted, taking out his gun, soon followed by another one taking aim at the incoming biker.

Igor saw the two armed thugs and started shooting, his aim deadly precise considering he was on a moving bike. One bullet ripped directly through a gang member’s chest, another found its mark in a shoulder. The alley erupted into chaos.

"Fuego!" the leader screamed, turning his gun from Maria to the new threat, but he was the only one with the gun remaining. His shots rang out, wild and desperate. Most missed, ricocheting off the brick walls, but two found their target. One hit Igor, eliciting a grunt of pain, while the other struck the front tire of his bike.

Igor cursed as he lost control, the Harley skidding and slamming to the ground with a sickening crunch, sliding into the pile of trash cans.

The distraction was enough. Maria's instincts kicked in, adrenaline surging through her veins. Her captors momentarily loosened their grip, just enough for her to break free.

With a swift kick, she sent the gun flying from the gang leader's hand, the weapon skittering across the pavement with a metallic clatter.

"Maldita!" he spat, rage contorting his face.

"I’m so gonna kill you," Maria hissed, her eyes glinting with defiance. But then she felt it—a sharp, searing pain as a knife plunged into her side.

"Not if I kill you first," sneered another gang member, his breath hot and foul against her ear.

Maria gritted her teeth, twisting her body to wrench the blade out. The pain was immense, but it fueled her fury. She grabbed his wrist, snapping it back with a sickening crack before driving her elbow into his throat. He stumbled back, choking, but another attacker was already upon her, his knife poised high in the air, ready to strike down straight into her chest.

Time seemed to slow as she braced herself, muscles coiling like a tightly wound spring, preparing to dodge or counter—anything to stay alive.

"Muere, puta!" he roared.

Just then, two hands gripped his face from behind and yanked him back with such force that the cracks of his neck reverberated through the alley like a gruesome symphony. The attacker fell to the ground, lifeless.

"Rachel," Maria breathed in relief.

Rachel stood above the now dead Mexican, her face a grotesque mask of blood and fury, eyes alight with a berserk madness. Her lips curled into a feral snarl, exposing those deadly fangs.

"Get off her!" Rachel snarled, her voice dripping with venom.

The guy who had stabbed Maria turned toward this new threat, panic flashing in his eyes as he saw her fangs. Rachel was unstoppable, a whirlwind of dark energy and violence. She moved with amazing speed, her movements almost a blur. In an instant, she was on him, her hands a vise around his throat.

"No… por favor!" he begged, his voice cracking with fear.

"Fuck you," Rachel growled, her grip tightening as she suddenly yanked his head to the side, breaking his neck with her unrelenting strength.

She released her hold on the now limp body, turning to Maria with a look that was both terrifying and heart-wrenchingly familiar - it reminded Maria of her determined look when they were finishing their last sets in gym - a distant memory of another, simpler life.

"Let's finish this," Rachel said, her voice low and dangerous, but with that flicker of the old Rachel there, buried beneath the bloodlust.

"Together," Maria agreed, their bond stronger than ever despite—or perhaps because of—the nightmare they were enduring.

The gang leader stumbled back, momentarily disoriented by the chaos around him. His eyes widened as he saw his men falling under the fury of Maria and Rachel's assault. He couldn’t comprehend how these two feeble girls could outmatch his boys so brutally. He regained his footing and picked up his gun with trembling hands.

"Fucking die!" he screamed, his voice cracking with a mix of rage and fear.

He fired wildly, bullets tearing through the air. Even so close to his targets he still managed to miss some shots in the panic, but many bullets hit. Maria felt the searing pain as a couple of rounds pierced her chest and stomach. She screamed, a sound that was both agony and anger, but she did not fall. Beside her, Rachel was similarly riddled with three bullets, her body jerking with each impact yet remaining upright.

"Why... why won't you die?" the leader stammered as he emptied his gun, his voice barely a whisper now.

“Cause we’re already dead, moron,” Maria said with a wicked grin. Her eyes met his—predatory, inhuman. Fangs glistened in the dim light of the alley, bared in feral grins. The leader kept triggering the empty gun as possessed, its futile clatter echoing against the walls.

"Brujas… malditas brujas," he repeated, his voice faltering.

"Close, but not quite," Maria hissed, her tone dripping with malice.

They advanced on him, their movements fluid and almost graceful despite their injuries. Maria's fist connected with his jaw, sending him sprawling to the ground. Rachel's boot followed, crunching into his ribs with brutal efficiency.

"Ayúdame!" he cried out, desperation lacing his words.

Two thugs charged forward, wielding long knives. They slashed and swung, but their weapons seemed almost laughable against the berserk fury of the two vampiresses. Rachel caught one attacker's hand mid-swing and disarmed him before driving the blade into his chest. Warm, metallic blood sprayed onto her face in crimson streaks.

"Diablo!" the other shouted, lunging at Maria with a knife.

She sidestepped effortlessly, her hand shooting out to grip his wrist. With a twist, bones shattered under her strength. His scream was cut short as she drove her elbow into his throat, collapsing his windpipe.

There were only three remaining thugs left standing, and they quickly realized the pointlessness of continuing the fight.

"Run, cabrones! Run!" one of them yelled, terror evident in his voice. He turned around and ran as fast as he could.

The other two hesitated, eyeing their beaten leader on the ground and two girls that fought better than anyone they encoutered so far. But as their terrifying gazes fixed on them, all loyalty to their leader was lost - their footsteps echoed the narrow alleyway. But escape was an illusion. Maria and Rachel were upon them in a heartbeat, propelled by unholy speed.

"This is what you get for playing with vampires," Maria growled, her voice a dark promise. She held him down, yanked his head to the side and opened her mouth, baring the razor sharp fangs in a twisted, hellish grin.

As he gazed up at her fanged grin, he realized she wasn't insane - she really was a vampire. In a fit of panic, he tried to escape but it was futile against Maria's iron grip. With a sadistic smirk, she sank her razor-sharp fangs into his neck, ripping through flesh and unleashing a torrent of warm blood. It flooded her mouth, igniting a primal hunger within her that no amount of previous nightclub feeding could satisfy - this bite was fueled purely by the desire to kill.

She bit down even harder, reveling in the taste of fear of the warm blood pulsing into her mouth. Her victim convulsed beneath her, his life slipping away as Maria feasted on every drop of his precious essence. Each beat of his heart sent waves of euphoria through her body, a rush that made her feel invincible.

With a sigh of delight, Maria moaned against her victim's skin as she drained him dry. The surge of power coursing through her veins was intoxicating, at last she could give in to the the moments of unbridled indulgence. No restraint, no mercy - just pure pleasure derived from taking another life.

She looked up, her eyes meeting Rachel's. Rachel was lost in her own euphoria, her face a mask of dark pleasure as she drained her first victim. The man's whimpers faded into silence, leaving only the sound of Rachel's soft moans of delight.

"Maria… this feels... so fucking incredible," Rachel breathed out, her voice barely more than a whisper. Her lips were stained a deep crimson and her blue eyes sparkled with an untamed intensity that was both terrifying and thrilling. They glowed like two bright stars in the vast darkness, mirroring Maria's own predatory gaze which held a similar wild light.

"Yes," Maria responded softly, her voice a velvet caress that was as seductive as it was sinister. "Welcome to the true ecstasy."

Their eyes met and locked. There was a new understanding between them, deepened by the shared darkness they now embraced.

It finally happened... the moment I'd been dreading. Rachel had crossed the final line - she'd taken a human life. I'd done everything in my power to stop it, to delay it, but it was like trying to hold back the tide with a teacup. It was inevitable really, just a matter of time ticking down until the moment arrived.

Funny though, I thought I'd be horrified, but now that it's here... It's as if some part of me knew all along this was how things would end up and it’s good it happened with these fuckers. What a fitting end for the rollercoaster of a night…

But the night was not yet done with them. Their senses sharpened, alerted by the movements of the other gang members, injured and trying to flee. The scent of fear hung heavy in the air, mingling with the metallic tang of blood.

"Let’s feast on them," Maria said, her voice a sultry command.

"With pleasure," Rachel echoed, her grin savage.

They moved with supernatural grace, their bodies a blur of shadow and speed, and turned the alley into a slaughterhouse.

A wounded man stumbled, clutching his side, but he was no match for Maria's relentless pursuit. She pounced, her nails digging into his flesh as she pulled him close, her fangs sinking into his throat with brutal efficiency.

Rachel wasn't far behind, her own prey collapsing under her assault. The alley filled with the sounds of desperate cries, each victim adding to the horrific symphony. The beasts inside them reveled in the carnage, their wounds knitting together as they feasted, the excess blood fueling their rapid healing.

The last straggler tried to crawl away, his leg shattered, but Rachel caught him easily. Her eyes blazed with sadistic glee as she lifted him, her fangs bared in a predatory smile.

"Say goodnight," she hissed, her bite swift and deadly. His scream cut short, replaced by the wet gurgle of his lifeblood pouring out.

As the final echoes of their grisly feast faded, the alley stood silent. It looked as a horror scene, painted in the dark red hues of violence.

There was only one left - Maria and Rachel saved the gang leader for last. He lay sprawled against a brick wall, his breath coming in ragged gasps, eyes wide with terror as he muttered a litany of prayers under his breath.

"Por favor... Please... no me maten..." His voice quivered, desperatly trying to reason through the fog of bloodlust enveloping the vampiresses.

Maria was the first to make a move, her steps slow and intentional, like a cat playing with its prey before going in for the final pounce. Her ripped clothes, stained with the blood of his defeated buddies, hung loosely on her body. She squatted next to him, her fingers lightly brushing against his cheek.

"What's wrong, cariño? Scared?" Her voice was a purr, dripping with dark mockery.

"Dios mio, ayudame!" he pleaded, his hands quivering as he hoisted a weighty golden crucifix from his chain necklace, frantically presenting it to Maria.

Maria couldn't help but chuckle. "Is that supposed to scare us?" she asked, her voice dripping with contempt. She grabbed the crucifix and crushed it in her hand, fake gold bending like putty beneath her strength. "Your god can't save you… and why would he bother saving such a piece of shit in the first place?"

Rage and fear twisted his features as he spat at her, his defiance futile against the nightmarish power before him. "Go to hell, puta!"

Maria straightened, her expression now icy cold. "Certainly. But you're coming with us."

As one, they lunged, their fangs sinking deep into his neck. They drank deeply, each pull drawing out his life force, his screams fading into gurgles of pain.

As they fed, their eyes met, each mirroring the other's dark hunger, but this wasn't just about sustenance; it was a connection through his still beating heart that echoed within their veins, making them feel as one.

The world around them blurred into insignificance as they succumbed to the heady rush of power. They were apex predators, indulging without remorse or regret.

They released him, letting his lifeless form slump to the ground. Blood smeared their lips, chins, basically most of their bodies, their eyes glowing with unholy light. They were completely satiated, like never before in their new existence.

"Oh my God… I never felt so good… so full," Rachel breathed, collapsing onto the blood-stained pavement. She laughed, a wild, delirious sound that echoed through the alley.

"Me neither." Maria breathed. The feeling was indescribable, like bathing in an ocean of pure hedonistic pleasure.

"I want more of this, Maria… I want it all…" Rachel said, her voice dreamy, eyes half-closed in the afterglow of their rampage.

"I know…" Maria said softly. "Believe me, I want it too."

Rachel's eyes glinted dangerously in the dim light.

"But we can't give into these urges completely," Maria continued, her words heavy with an unspoken yearning. "We'll find a way for... this. There are those who deserve it more than the others."

A pause hung between them like a shroud, and then Maria confessed in a whisper, "But I won't lie... part of me doesn’t want to hold back… I’d want to sink into this as much as you would."

Maria lay in the pool of blood, closed her eyes and waited for Rachel’s response. But instead she heard her steps moving away…

Rachel stalked forward, towards some distant groan she overheard. The source of the noise came into view—a figure pinned beneath a toppled motorcycle. Igor. His face contorted in pain, his efforts to free himself futile against the weight of the machine.

"Igor," Rachel's voice was a mere whisper, a spectral echo of a plea that hung in the thick, heavy air. Her words were frail, trembling in the dense atmosphere saturated with the metallic scent of spilled blood. "Are you ok?"

"Rachel?" Igor's voice was strained, his breath hitching in his chest as he fought against waves of pain.

"Yes... it's me." She murmured again, her voice barely audible over the throbbing pulse in her ears. “You look delic-… uhm, hurt. You’re injured.”

"What... what are you saying? Ouch... Is everything ok with you two?" Igor managed to croak out through clenched teeth. He didn’t like the hungry look on her face… it was the same as before, when she was killing the gang.

"Just relax," Rachel cooed gently, her voice slipping into the silence like silk against skin. She moved towards him with predatory grace, sinking down beside him on her knees. "You're hurt... let me help."

"I... you don’t have to..." Igor pleaded but Rachel seemingly ignored his words or wasn’t even capable of listening.

"Shh," she whispered again, tracing an enticing path along his neck; every pulse beneath his skin sent shivers of anticipation coursing through her body. Her eyes took on a glazed look as they filled with insatiable hunger that threatened to consume her entirely.

Suddenly she jerked his head aside to expose the pulsating vein at his throat. "I can take all the pain away..."

"Rachel, no!" Maria lunged forward, using every ounce of strength she had to pull Rachel away from Igor. "Get away from him!"

Rachel was hurled onto the blood-soaked ground.

"Step aside, he’s mine!" Rachel growled, her reflexes kicking in as she lashed out. But Maria caught her wrists, holding her in an iron grip.

"Snap out of it, Rach! That's Igor! He saved us!" Maria shook Rachel, trying to jolt her back to reality.

"Saved... us?" Rachel's voice wavered, the fog of bloodlust slowly lifting from her eyes.

"Yes, dammit! He's not one of them," Maria's voice softened slightly, though it remained firm. "If he wouldn’t have helped, we would be dead by now."

Rachel's breath hitched as clarity returned, and she looked down at Igor, truly seeing him for the first time. The fear and pain in his eyes—it was enough to snap her out of her frenzy.

"God, Igor… I… I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice choked with remorse.

"Yeah, well... I ain't dead, so that's something," Igor managed, his voice shaky but tinged with relief. The shock of what he'd witnessed was evident in his wide eyes, but he seemed more relieved than anything else.

"Thank you," Maria said softly as she caressed his face. "What you did was so brave… and stupid. We owe you one."

"Just... don't make me regret it," Igor replied, a faint smile tugging at his lips despite the pain.

Maria knew she owed him more than she could ever repay. Igor had risked everything to save them and for the better or worse, he was part of their world now. More than that, he'd seen the harrowing depths of their existence and the moments when the Beast inside them took over.

"Yeah… I almost fucked up before. Sorry about that," Rachel apologized, her voice barely above a whisper, but not lacking in sincerity.

“Come, Rach, give me a hand,” Maria gestured her.

The vampiresses crouched down, Rachel lifting up the messed bike off him while Maria carefully pulled him out of the pile of trash cans, the warm blood seeping from his leg.

"Fuck, you really are hurt," Maria muttered, her voice laced with a strange mix of tenderness and worry.

"I've had worse… Well, on second thought, maybe not," Igor gasped, his face ashen as he glanced down at the leg that Rachel was helping him to keep up.

“I’ll carry you,” Maria said decidedly. Before he could protest, she scooped him up in her arms, cradling him like a child.

"Shit, this doesn’t look good," Rachel murmured, pointing to the dark red stain blossoming on Igor's leg. "He's been hit."

"I see," Maria sighed, her eyes scanning the wound with a grim precision. "At least it didn't hit an artery. We need to stop the bleeding."

"Here, use this," Igor groaned, ripping a piece of cloth from his already torn shirt and handing it to Maria.

"Hold still," Maria instructed, wrapping the makeshift bandage around his leg, tightening it to stem the flow of blood. Igor hissed in pain but nodded in understanding.

"Alright, what now?" Rachel asked, glancing nervously at the sky. The first hints of dawn were painting the horizon with hues of pink and gold—a beautiful omen for most, but a death sentence for creatures like them.

"Can't leave him here," Maria replied, her voice firm despite the urgency in her eyes. "We owe him that much."

"Are you sure? The sun's almost up!" Rachel protested, her tone sharp with fear. "We need to get home, now!"

"Then we take him with us," Maria countered, her grip tightening on Igor's arm as if to emphasize her point. "We're not leaving him behind."

“Why don’t we drop him off at hospital then?” Rachel suggested.

"There’s no time,” Maria shook her head. “Besides, cops will be all over him with that gunshot wound."

"You’re right," Rachel said, nodding. "We'll take him to the Bentley. It's only a few blocks away."

"Hope you can handle some speed, big guy," Rachel teased, but there was an undercurrent of genuine concern in her voice.

"Just... don't drop me," Igor quipped weakly, managing a faint smile despite the pain etched across his face.

They moved quickly, the city's silence amplifying their anxiety. The rising sun cast an eerie glow, its light creeping closer, threatening to expose them.

"Almost there," Maria panted, her eyes fixed on the familiar silhouette of their Bentley. "Just a bit more."

"Come on, Igor, hang in there," Rachel urged, her voice softer now, almost coaxing.

"Trying," he grunted, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

Finally, they reached the car, the sleek black vehicle a beacon of hope amidst their desperation. They loaded Igor into the backseat, his body slumping against the leather upholstery. Blood stained the pristine interior, but that was the least of their concerns.

"We’ve got to go!" Rachel urged, hopping into the driver's seat. Maria slid in beside her, casting one last glance at the encroaching dawn.

"Drive, Rachel," Maria commanded, her voice a low growl. "Get us out of here."

Rachel didn’t need to be told twice. She twisted the key in the ignition, the engine roaring to life, and without a moment's hesitation, she slammed her foot on the accelerator.

As they sped away, the first rays of sunlight pierced through the buildings, chasing them like spectral fingers.

“Goddammit… it’s so fucking bright,” Rachel muttered as she drove trough the almost empty streets. Fortunately, it was too early for the morning rush hour.

“Yeah… and it burns like hell,” Maria added, shielding her pale face from the occasional rays. The early morning sun wasn't as dangerous for them as midday, but Maria could feel her energy dropping with each passing second. If it weren’t for the blood rush she'd probably be huddled in the back seat with Igor.

"You... you girls okay? I’d gladly drive, but my leg’s too fucked up," Igor said, his voice tentative as he wrapped his arm around his bleeding side, trying to stem the flow of blood.

"It’s fine, we'll live," Maria muttered. "Figuratively speaking, anyways." The three of them shared a brittle laughter.

It became easier once they reached the outskirts of the city and entered the dense forest, where the sun struggled to penetrate through the thick canopy of green. However, when a stray ray did manage to break through, both vampiresses could feel each photon burning into their sensitive skin cells. But beyond the physical discomfort, they were also overcome with exhaustion, despite experiencing such heightened energy not even an hour ago.
