Back in The Room

Back in the tiny room Maria was in control again.

At least, she was in control of herself, a victory that was not to be sneezed at considering her current situation.

Looking around at the room she had to fight the overlapping memories of others to think straight. The walls were bare stone, cinder blocks that had been poorly cemented into place, almost like the person who had did it didn’t know what they were doing. The floor was bare concrete, the open drain in the center seeming to serve as booth drainage and, from the lack of any other obvious options, her toilet.

All in all it was the textbook example of a place you don’t want to wake up. Adding to that was the fact that she had been stripped naked whilst she was out, all of the little toys she had hidden in her clothing where gone.

The memories told her that that was going to be the least of her problems pretty soon. She looked at the door to the room, it seemed to be the only thing in this place that wasn’t cheaply bought and poorly put in place. If anything it looked like it should have been in the solitary wing of some prison. The heavy metal surface was only broken by a small peep window, not even a lot for pushing food through.

On shaky legs Maria stood up off the bed, moving away from it she found that the chain around her wrist let her move into the middle of the room and no further. The beds legs having been bolted to the floor she had no chance of blocking the doorway with it.

The only ventilation seemed to be the crack under the door yet somehow she was still able to hear that sobbing.

Sobbing and the sound of footsteps coming her way.
