Back at the Table

“She took some convincing.” Fiona said turning to her friend and mentor.

“Most people do. Not everyone is like you willing to strip their clothes of at the slightest request.” Daniela and Fiona laughed as they watched Blair’s back disappear into the bathroom.

“You sure she’s the person you wanna bet on? Seems to me that Monica would eat her alive.” Daniela turned to her Irish friend.

“I think so. From everything I can tell she’ll be perfect. In fact if it hadn’t been for that little incident of hers every sorority on campus would’ve given her a bid.”

“Aye that particular story makes me think she’ll fit in well.” The red head finished pounding her Guinness. “If we can get her out of her shell”

“Oh we will.” Daniela said it with an air of confidence she didn’t truly feel. But she had to believe. Blair had to be everything she thought she was if she was going to make sure everything went according to plan. Their was too much riding on it. Not just Daniela’s position in the Sorority but the entire direction of Delta Mu itself.

“She’s been in their a minute…” Fiona looked at The older girl next to her “what do we do if she…” the rest of her sentence cut off by the ding from Daniela’s phone. Look at it her face broke into a wide smile.

“Gimme that!” The red had said excitedly snatching the phone out of Daniela’s hand. “Oi!” Fiona exclaimed glancing at the naked blonde in the photo and then at the fully clothed freshman approaching the table. Her cheeks were red with embarrassment but the smile she wore on her face was all pride.

“You’re mad fit you are!” Fiona said making Blair blush even harder.

“Well it’s my distinct pleasure to welcome you to this years Delta Mu pledge class Blair Morison!” Daniela lifted her glass in a toast and clinked it with Blair’s.

As they finished the two gin and tonics Daniela explained the next step to Blair. She gave her an address and said to meet there at 6pm that Friday and to come packed to spend the weekend.

“Oh and Blair?” They we’re outside now and about to go their separate ways. Daniela and Fiona further off campus and Blair back up the hill towards her dorm. “It’s very important you tell no one about Rush understand? There will be a time when it’s ok to let your friends you trust know. But for the moment let’s make sure to keep it a secret ok?”

Blair nodded her agreement and said goodbye to each girl with a brief hug before turning off and heading out into the night.
