Back to Dr. Crane's

Summer tried to stop herself, but she arrived at Dr. Crane's office at noon on the dot the next day. The receptionist grinned wolfishly at her. "Back so soon?"
She knew. She must know. Was she in on it, or another one of Dr. Crane's victims? "Just let me see him," Summer said. She didn't want to see him but at the same time, she had to.
The receptionist stood up and peered at Summer's feet. "You haven't washed them, have you?"
"No."
"Let me see."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me," the receptionist said. "I'm not letting you in until I've seen the bottoms of your feet."
"Go to hell. You can't stop me."
The blonde tapped a few keys on the computer. "Actually, I can lock the door. I can delete you rpatient file. You'll never see Dr. Crane again."
Never seeing Dr. Crane again. That was exactly what Summer wanted. To never have to bother with the hypnotist who was taking over her life. If she could just find the strength to refuse this woman's demand.
Instead, Summer lifted up her feet, one at a time, to give the woman a brief view of her soles. "Filthy," the receptionist cackled. "You know as soon as you're in he's going to make you lick them clean. Now dance for me."
The reception room had big glass windows, everyone would be able to see her. But she just didn't have a choice. She did a little dance, cha-chaing for the wicked woman. The receptionist was clearly about to make another demand when Dr. Crane opened the door.
"Tara, are you playing with Summer? There'll be plenty of time for that later. Summer, you can come in now."
