Back At The Cabins

When Makayla opened her eyes she saw they were back at the cabins. That went fast, she thought. Too fast. As Raz turned off the vehicle, she removed her helmet and looked around. She saw Sayen and Axe sitting at a picnic table, Brian and Erik were coming up the trail, no sign of the others.

"Here you are little lady," Raz said as he helped her off the vehicle. She looked into his brown eyes, then gave him a hug.

Raz was surprised, but remembered her hug to her boyfriend earlier. He also noted she didn't go running to him. Hmm, he thought. As she released the hug, Erik walked past her and smiled, looking her up and down. She blushed again. Raz also noted this.

"Is everything okay? I mean other than..." Axe asked, running up to her.

"Everything's fine... now," she responded. Then turning to Raz she added, "Thank you, again."

"I'd say 'anytime' but I'd prefer you not get hurt again," he replied.

Makayla laughed awkwardly.

"Hurt?" Axe asked.

"Come on," she said taking Axe's hand and leading him inside. Axe looked dumbfounded but followed. He looked to Sayen but she just shrugged.

Alex was sitting on a picnic table near the men's cabin, but slightly off into the woods. He as deep in thought when he felt someone slide up next to him. He turned slightly to see Bianca.

"Have a good afternoon?" he asked.

"Figured some stuff out. You?"

"Haven't figured anything out."

They turned and looked at each other. He could see the pain in her blue eyes, and she could see the pain in his. He realized this wasn't the same Bianca that had tried to comfort him earlier. He didn't know her story, but he felt he understood it.

They both turned and saw the ATV with Raz and Makayla pull up. Bianca saw his face harden.

Alex didn't know weather to yell or cry hen he saw Makayla hug the ranger. Inside he was doing both. He was also worried about her as something must have happened. It's supposed to be me that takes care of her. As Erik and Brian walked by her, he noticed Brian stop and look his way, giving him a funny look, before he turned and went inside. It was then that he realized that Bianca had laid her head on his shoulder. He tilted his head to hers and placed his hand on her back.

"Funny thing," she said, "just when you think you got it all figured out, life laughs and you have nothing figured out."

"Hmph," was all Alex could say and hung his head. As he lightly rubbed her back in a circular motion he felt her hand lightly rub his neck, almost tickling it.

Another set of unhappy eyes had also witnessed the interaction between Alex and Bianca. Pitt had looked out his window to see what the commotion was, but instead was greeted with the woman who had just flattened him, cuddling up to another guy. That feeling combined with jealousy were emotions he wasn't used to experiencing, and he didn't like it one bit.
