Baby Maryam is already here

"Maryam," Habiba says. "Your father is here."

Habiba cuddled the newborn to her breast. Bernie sat close beside her lover, an arm around the taller woman's back.

"She's perfect," Gary said. He laughed. "What a big girl!"

Bernie and Habiba smiled at him. Habiba accepted a kiss on the cheek. Bernie wrapped her other arm around Gary and gave him a kiss.

"Something hold you up?" Bernie asked.

"Just slow getting in gear," Gary said. He was still warm, flushed and dreamy from his bareback shot up Peter's ass while he was reliving the scene that had brought Habiba, Bernie, and Gary to this moment.

The nurse put Gary's name under FATHER on the baby's birth record. The rest was all filled out. Gary signed, feeling a tingle across his shoulders. Responsibility, his dad had said. Get used to it.
