BR Day 3 - Get through it

The lecture is not even a real class, but Lara still looks smart when she says anything to Ana, who talks about supporting teammates and working together.

Next is the practice match. Lara is on your team, so you don't even get to test your skills against her. It's even worse because Beth constantly passes the ball to her, and Lara easily outplays Adella. Yesterday you had to fight through every minute of the game, and today it's easy even though it is so hot.

By halftime Adella is completely worn out from trying to fight off Lara. You finally get the ball in the third quarter, and eager to finally do something, you brutally knock Adella down and score on her team. Afterward the other girls don't look impressed, they look scared.

Maybe they can tell how mad you are. You know you should not be this mad.

After the game you shower at the cabin, then meet the girls getting ready to go shopping. Beth is already on the bus with Lara, and you join them and do your best to be cool.

"You looked good out there," Lara says to you, even though she hogged the spotlight for the whole game.

You hold your temper. At the department store you find yourself a suit and sarong that will protect you, and you find a red bikini with polka dots that is perfect for Beth. It's an ugly bikini... but it is just so her. She will look very cute in it.

As you go to find her at the changing rooms, she and Lara already about to check out and Lara is carrying the same bikini in Beth's size. No way! She is already buying it for her.

"Come on," Beth says to you, waving another swimsuit. "I got you one too." She kisses your cheek and goes to check out. Lara doesn't even look at you. This sucks.

You go back to camp and get ready to hike up to the campsite. You had forgotten about this stupid overnight camping thing, and so had some of the other girls... now they are all complaining.

You carry your things into the woods with your stomach grumpling. Beth struggles and sweats as much as you do, but Lara makes it look very easy, like she hikes through the woods all the time after a full day of nonstop soccer.

You all eat a hot dinner that makes everyone even hotter. This is the worst camping trip. All the other girls are still showering Lara with praise for her performance. Even Adella is too tired and hot to be angry about losing.

Beth joins you as you fan yourself and dread trying to sleep. She takes your hand but doesn't get too close because of the heat.

"Want me to stand watch?" She looks at the shower. She means you could cool off with a cold shower without having to worry about anyone walking in... It's a very considerate offer.

"Thanks," you say. Maybe the water will cool off your jealousy. You go in the shower and cool off while Beth stands outside with a bag of gummy bears, munching happily... she is so cheerful.

When you come out, Beth is gone.

For a second you are pissed off... did she just leave you defenseless? Anyone could have discovered you... you look for her by the fire, which none of the girls get close to, and then in the tent, but she is not there. You ask Riona, but she doesn't know where Beth went. The coaches don't know either.

Ana suspects that some of the girls are sneaking away to the pond to skinny dip, but no one has gone yet... it's not dark enough to sneak anywhere.
