Chapter 7

How is your first morning?
Awkward, loud, with a side of star bolts.
When you went to sleep, you expected to wake up to the same four walls of your bedroom. You expected to get up, take a shower, and then get to work on designing your next game. Same as it's ever been since you had begun your new life as a videogame designer.
What you did not expect was to slowly open your eyes to a brand new room that you have no memory of ever being in! for when you slowly cracked open your eyes, blinking away the sleepiness within them. You woke to a completely different room; not only this, but you also felt a heavyweight on your right arm. Originally, you assumed that your arm was just simply asleep and had yet to catch up with the rest of your body in awakening.
Yet, as soon as you try to sit up and examine the room that you were in, you felt the movement of something on your arm! An with a hesitant look to your right, what you saw under the sheets of a completely foreign bed, in a completely foreign room, was someone that you had never met before dressed in an outfit that you have ever only seen once. Though with your current drowsiness, you could not immediately pin down where exactly you had seen it before. As the outfit of the girl that rested upon your arm looked like a short metallic purple crop top with metal bits here and there, including a metal gorget with an emerald gemstone in the middle of it. Along with this were a set of metal armbands and gauntlets that also had emeralds buried within them with the outfit finally being topped off with a metal belt and amethyst purple miniskirt and thigh-high boots.
And yes, the person whose head was laying on your arm was most definitely a she. For the unmistakable feminine curves of her surprisingly orange-skinned body were undeniable. As was her long waist-long oddly colored magenta hair, had her bangs neatly stylized into curls that accentuated her heart-shaped face. Which in itself had a cute button nose, bottom-heavy lips, and a set of high cheekbones that made her look lovely.
Yet, what truly drew your eyes were her own. For as you sat up to get a better look at the room, it appeared that you had awakened your unknown guest. As now, her large doe-like eyes blurrily blinked opened at your sudden movement, and were now staring directly into your own deep caramel brown eyes. With her eyes shining like emeralds, as they were pure green both in Iris and in sclera with only her sclera being a lighter shade green that seemed to enhance her irises. As the two of you stare at each other for just a moment, the length of which you could not even begin to tell, the two of you sat there in complete silence. Drinking in the each other's appearance as this strange and very odd moment played out before the two of you.
*PEW!* "AH!"
An as quickly as this moment came, it passed as the young woman who just blasted you into the wall with a bolt of green energy quickly sprang to her feet, throwing off the bedsheets before standing on top of the bed as you began to slide down the wall groaning in pain slowly. Dressed only in your white T-shirt and black gym shorts.
"Who are you! Where am I?! What is this place?!! Where are my friends!?!" She ranted and screamed as her hands glowed with powerful green energy. You tried to come up with an answer, any answer to satisfy her so she wouldn't blast you again, but at the same time, you were still trying to come to terms with what exactly was going on.
"I… I…!" You stammered as you tried to stand, yet before you can even get on your feet, she was already on top of you. Grasping you by your throat and lifting you with complete ease, surprising you with her strength. As her waifish hourglass form made you think to the contrary, but now you were proven quite wrong as her eyes pulsating with powerful emerald light as a snarl crossed her pretty face.
"Answer me! What have you done with my-!" Her voice died in her throat as she became frozen in place as a blue energy field surrounded not only her form but yours as well. Yet despite the two of you being locked in a frozen position, you were completely aware of what was going on as her eyes danced back and forth, trying to understand what exactly happened. You saw that her eyes did the same and yet within them… You saw the spark of fear at the sheer helplessness she was now **** to endure.
Yet before the two of you could truly panic, a new, far more pleasing, and undeniably cheerful voice came across the room. As your frozen eyes searched for the source of the new voice, only to land on the new flat screen tv that sat above a definitely retro sci-fi-ish dresser. That displayed a white background with a single red beating heart with wings as the message began to be played out loud.
"Congratulations, Koriand'r of Tamaeran and Oscar Knox! We here at Cupid's Wishes would like to thank you both for using our services to find the "one" in your lives!" The cheerful voice began, causing your eyes and the eyes of your would-be captor, now apparent wife, to widen for not only your recognition of the name but also the reveal of your now recent marriage to a character that till moments ago was just fiction to you.
"We hope you enjoy your new lives together and enjoy the new amenities of the new home we have graciously gifted to you two! As well as the optimized bodies we've given you! Now we're sure you want to go ahead and start your honeymoon and see the sights and sounds of the multi-verse!" The voice continued, causing your jaw to drop mentally not only at the implication of body modification but also at the implication that the multi-verse was real. Yet before you could even mentally question what that implied beyond what was being said, what the voice said next made your blood chill.
"But to do that, you must first make the marriage official with a dance underneath the sheets! Once that is done, you can traverse the multi-verse to your heart's desire!" Now your eyes really widened, while you could see that Starfire's had only grown in questioning with one of her small oval-shaped brows slightly quirking in questioning as the implication went over her head.
"And remember you are now bound in holy matrimony for good and for ill, For life and for ****! So take care of each other, else you both will meet and suffer a quick meeting with the reaper!" The voice continued to chirp out, not even hiding the obvious threat it told the two of you. As both your face and Starfire's paled at the implication as both of your irises shrank to pinpricks.
"But enough with the doom and gloom, it's a time to think about life! So enjoy your new life together, you cute couple! And if you have any questions, consult your travel manual, it is next to your complimentary wedding gifts from us here at Cupids Wishes!" The Message finished before the Flatscreen cut to black and powered off. Leaving the two of you frozen only for a few more seconds before the two of you were freed from the blue field of energy that held the two of you captive. An instantly, as soon as the field vanished, Starfire released you from her grip and backed away from you slightly as you fell to one knee on the floor, coughing slightly.
Before finally standing back up to see Starfire sitting there on the messy bed, her emerald eyes that were once filled with anger and energy. Now filled with confusion and uncertainty as she looked down at the floor with her hands on the sides of her head as she tried to make sense of what just happened.
The two of you just... stood there for a while, uncertain of what to do.
Till eventually, after the pain in your neck started to fade away, you spoke.
"Err... *cough* I..." You coughed as struggled to find the right words as you rubbed your throat. While not extremely painful, Starfire certainly had a grip on her. Who speaking of which looked up from her position on the bed to stare at you with confusion and uncertainty as you proposed your next course of action.
"Err... Wanna get some breakfast?"
(A while later...)
(In the Kitchen)
a little bit later, down in the kitchen of the new home you and Starfire now apparently share. The two of you begin to eat breakfast, with Starfire sitting on her lonesome in a nearby booth with a roundtable, while you cooked pancakes. The silence was telling, as the two of you still didn't know exactly what to say to each other little alone do.
You cooked silently in the kitchen, flipping a fresh pancake onto a plate, while Starfire sat quietly in the booth not even touching the large stack of blueberry pancakes in front of her. In this silence, you can only think back at the appearance of this new home that the two of you now share.
It's… Very Star Wars if you had to give it an actual description. With it having the same sliding doors seen on Tatooine, gray stonewalls all over, cobblestone floors for the halls and common areas, and light warm honey brown wood flooring for all the rest. Along with light fixtures and even furniture that all harken back to Star Wars in some way and fashion with the sheer design of how it is. That being this futuristic sci-fi that's gritty and dirty at the same time.
Sure enough, there are modern appliances here and there, breaking the feel slightly. But all the same, it is very, very, Star Wars. Even the house's overall design with it being about two stories tall is very angular in its overall design. With it sitting in the middle of a pool of water, it's a mix of modern and mid-century house designs.
With the main building being this large square node in the middle of a series of different platforms and wings that seemingly jut out from the central square node, all in different directions. As it stands there are three upstairs decks, one of which is a sunbathing roof with a hot tub, with the other being an outdoor dining area with a fire pit and the final deck being an outdoor bar of some kind. There is one more final deck attached to the roof, but it is primarily a hanging garden from the looks of it.
Down below is of course the living area, the kitchen, the dining room, a spare bathroom, and of course your apparent work studio. While upstairs is of course the bedrooms, all of which have their own bathrooms, with the master bedroom having the largest bathroom with a walk-in stone shower and a tub. Including the master bedroom, there are currently about four different bedrooms.
All of which are decorated in the classic Star Wars style, with the main master bedroom being decorated in a far more Imperial style. Which is to say it's full of black, gray, and white Imperial logos, light fixtures, furniture, and even has several helmets in the display from the Star Wars series.
Not only this but throughout the house, there are several different stone statues of the infamous Star Wars henchman, the stormtroopers, here and there guarding the halls. There were also several things from Mandolorian clans, that being several pieces of tribalistic furniture and shelves as well as the famous skull symbol of theirs being mounted onto a plaque over the small dining area in which StarFire is currently sitting. Which in itself looks like it's something from the Millennium falcon with the classic checkerboard table and round black leather booth.
With that exposition out of the way, you finish up your last pancake and put it on to your plate. Before cutting off the stove and moving the hot pan off the electric top, before making your way over to the booth in which Starfire is sitting. As you put your plate down and take a seat, the silence between the two of you is rather deafening. However, eventually, Starfire was the first one to speak.
"ehm… Oscar?" Starfire mumbled out in a questioning tone.
"Yes?" You asked the alien Princess as you reached for the nearby bottle of syrup on the table.
"I… Think I do not fully understand what has happened. The voice, from the Television it had said that we were mated, yes?" Starfire questioned with a quirk of her brow as you halted slightly in your application of syrup onto your pancakes. Before putting the bottle down and turning towards Starfire.
"If you mean married then… Yes? Apparently? I would say this is all a dream, but…" You trail off as you still feel the slight stinging sensation of the star bolt that Starfire had thrown at you earlier on your chest.
"But…?"
"Well, for one the pain in my chest from when you blindsided me is still tingling at my skin. If it wasn't for that, I'd still say that this was all some kind of silly dream." You explain to Starfire, as she stares at you with a curious look in her eyes.
"What makes you say that mate, Oscar?" Starfire asked with a curious tone in her voice and internally you knew would be a bad idea to explain to her that you came from a world where she was fiction, but you didn't really see any way around this. Might as well be blunt and rip off the bandage here and now.
"Well… To put it bluntly Starfire. About half an hour ago I thought you weren't even real. I thought you were just a… Well…" You stumble slightly not really certain on how you should say this. As you bring up a hand and scratch the back of your neck in nervousness. You could see Starfire's concern, as she stared at you with those big emerald green eyes of hers.
"A what my mate?" Starfire says with the concern in her voice visible as her brows furrow and she brings a hand up to rest up on yours. Which only makes what you're about to say hurt all that much worse.
"Well… A cartoon character..." You say hesitantly to the woman that sat next to you that just radiated innocence and kindness. Yet, your words only bring even more confusion to Starfire's eyes as one of her brows goes higher than the other.
"A cartoon? You mean like one of the animated things on the Television that my friends Beast Boy and Cyborg watch?"
"Well… Yes. Essentially, where I come from you and the Titans and all the rest of the superheroes and supervillains are nothing but fiction. You know, entertainment?" You explained to the young Tamaranian, yet as you saw the look of disbelief upon her face that left her completely clueless. You did not need to hear her speak to fully understand that she not only completely lost, but also didn't believe you in the slightest. Seeing this, you got up from your spot in the kitchen booth and moved to look to see if you could find any proof. After all, at this point, you've seen several of your knickknacks and portraits covering the walls and shelves. It wouldn't be all that hard to believe that some of your other items were transported with you.
"Hang on, let me show you." You told Starfire, as you went over to the living room area and searched the area quickly in order to locate a piece of evidence that would prove to her that she was fiction or the very least fiction in your world. After a bit of searching, you eventually found what you were looking for in one of the nearby shelves and made your way back to the booth with the object in hand.
"Here, have a look." You said as you handed Starfire a comic book. Yet, it was not any comic book it was a comic book based upon her and her friends. On the front of it, it had all five of them working together with a new girl in black and yellow trying to capture a blue man with a long nose in a dress suit and top hat as he ran away from them. At the very top left corner was an issue number stating it was the 12th issue in a series, along with the famous blue and white logo of DC comics. While to the right of this logo and issue number, was the tagline as seen on Cartoon Network. With the final thing being printed on the cover, being the name of the comic that said Teen Titans Go!
Starfire stared at the comic in her hands for a long while, before flipping the cover open to begin reading its contents. Which soon turned into a flurry of flipping as she began to flip through the comic page by page with her eyes growing larger and larger with each page flip. Until finally she reached the end of the comic, wherein which she looked back up at you as you sat next to her and had begun quietly eating your pancakes.
"I… This is..." Starfire muttered in a slight panic as she tried to comprehend what exactly she had discovered. Seeing this, you stopped eating your pancakes and put a single hand on Starfire's shoulder, which caused her to look up and stare you in the eyes.
"Look… I know you have a lot of questions Starfire. However if even one of those is the question or the thought that you aren't a real person. Then don't even think about that. You are real, the pain in my chest is more than enough proof to tell me that you are real, along with the fact that that message left behind by our mysterious matchmakers/kidnappers informed us of the fact that there is a multi-verse. Well… It gives me some thoughts, primarily a theory about how our world could possibly be aware of each other without fully realizing it." You explained to the young Tamaranian as you could see the panic in her eyes slightly died down, as a slight glimmer of hope began to emerge in them.
"And… What theory was that?" Starfire questioned with a slight tinge of hope in her voice is your explanation seems to have calmed her slightly.
"The theory that was proposed by a mad thinker in another universe, he primarily proposed that every world that we perceive as fiction is in fact our way of viewing another universe. Which considering the fact that we are now sitting next to each other eating breakfast, I have to say he was right." You tell Starfire with a small smile as she returns with a small one of her own as she puts a hand on the one you have rested on her shoulder and gives it a light squeeze before you retract it.
"That said…"You said nervously as you brought up your other hand to scratch your chin slightly. "I'm still surprised this all happened, I originally thought that this matchmaking service was a dating website. I didn't know it was a marriage contract system."
"Yes… I must admit that this was a bit of a surprise my mate. I did not think I would be wed to a man for quite some time." Starfire agreed, yet at the same time proposed another rather interesting question that came to your mind.
"Wait a minute… Starfire how did you get involved in the system? I was tricked into believing it was a dating service. How did you get involved?" You questioned the young Tamaranian as she hummed to herself for a few seconds as she brought a finger to the edge of her jaw in thought.
"I am not quite certain mate Oscar, I do not remember the signing any contract for marriage. The only other person who would have such a right to marry me off would be my K'norfka back on Tamaran." Starfire explained.
"Huh... Hang on a second." You muttered to the Tamaranian as you quickly got up from your spot in the booth and quickly made your way over to the nearby stairs that led up the second floor of the mansion.
"Where are you going, Oscar?"
"Upstairs to look for the marriage paperwork, its probably with the gifts that Cupid's wishes gave us."
"Why would you need the work of paper of the marriage?" Starfire asked as you began to go up the stairs.
"Because the paperwork more than likely has information on how we got into this mess, as well as how would probably going to get out of it. Just stay there and eat your pancakes Starfire, I'll be back in a second." You told Starfire as you major weight to the master bedroom, where you and Starfire originally awoke in. And sure enough there on the dresser underneath the flat-screen TV, were two gifts and a stack of paperwork. The gifts were colorfully wrapped in blue and pink respectively with the blue gift being addressed to you with a black bow, while the pink gift was decorated with a white bow and addressed to Starfire. Sitting in between them was the paperwork, along with a box of universal cherry-flavored condoms.
"Real classy." You sarcastically think to yourself as you pick up the paper, only to pause as you stared at the two gifts on the dresser.
"The message did say that these were gifts, I wonder what's in them?" You thought to yourself as you went over to your gift, before undoing the ribbon and popping open the lid to reveal... A dragon ball energy drink?
"What is this?" you thought to yourself as you pulled out what obviously looked like a dragon ball novelty of some kind. It was shaped like the famous four-star Mcguffin of the series. With it having a small neck that led to a twist-off bottlecap and its contents being orange in soda coloration.
Feeling thirsty after eating some pancakes, you shrug your shoulders and twist off the cap of the drink. Before guzzling the carbonated product down, it tasted like oranges and peaches? Odd yet, refreshing you think to yourself as you finish the last of the soft drink down. You suddenly feel a rising warmth in your body and your clothes suddenly felt tighter and did the room suddenly get smaller?!
You hear a gasp from the door to the room and turning around you see Starfire floating there with her eyes wide and her jaw dropped as she looks at you. Curious at her look of shock, you look down and see that your body has gone through a massive change!
Before you only stood at five foot ten with average muscles and little definition, now you stood at a tall height of six foot two with a body stacked with rippling muscle! Taking a hesitant glance at the master bedroom's full-length mirror, you saw that your face had undergone several small changes as well. With it becoming far more defined, your wide jaw became striking and your high cheekbones and sharp nose became striking. With your eyes, which were already intimidating with their natural scowl, becoming more pronounced with your short black hair and pale skin becoming warmer in coloration.
All together you look like an intimidating predator, a warrior with an angel's face, and a hard stare that could intimidate anyone. And if the blush on Starfire's face was any indication, she certainly approved of these new changes.
You looked down at the now-empty bottle in your hand to see what exactly you just drank and see the label. It read "Dragon ball Booster" on it. With it underneath tag line saying "that it would turn any man into a Dragon ball fighter!"
"I... Oh My..." Starfire says with wide eyes as she comes close to you examining your new body with keen interest as she pokes your new muscles here and there as if to check if they were real.
"Starfire please stop." You ask the young girl as she giggles slightly before scratches the back of her head nervously.
"I... I am sorry mate Oscar. It is just that your new body! Is..." Starfire says breathlessly as gives it another once over as you nervously move your weight from foot to foot. Feeling uncomfortable with not only her stare but also your now too tight clothing that seemed just ready to rip at the seams. Especially your pants, it seems your little buddy down below grew along with your body.
"It's fine Starfire." You tell the princess with a shake of your head before you bring up the paperwork in your hands.
"Anyway, I found the marriage papers." You tell her Before quickly opening the paperwork and skimming through it, all the while Starfire floats over to look over your shoulder as you skim through the paperwork.
"Huh... It looks like your, what did you say he was again?" You asked Starfire as she hovered over your shoulder, while she seemed actually relieved at the reveal of her K'norfka signing her contract as she gingerly took the paper out of the folder and began to quietly read it to herself.
"My K'norfka, my caretaker mate Oscar. _Sigh... _He always was the worrywart for me and sister." Starfire explained as she slowly began to read and reread the letter from her guardian.
"Really?"
"Oh yes… Every time I and my sister would always get into the trouble, he would come trying to save us from our misadventures. No matter how much of the trouble we got ourselves into." Starfire said with longing in her voice as she began to remember memories of a better time when she was smaller.
"He sounds like a good man."
"Sigh... He is the best!"
"Well, that explains how you got roped into this." You said, before searching for any clues in the paperwork on how to annul the marriage. "Now let's see if I can't find a way to get the both of us out of it and break the marriage."
As you said this Starfire goes quiet, as she stares at the contract written by her adoptive father, before looking back at you. She seems to be debating something within her mind as she constantly trades glances from the paper to you. As she does this you begin to learn about what it would take to break the marriage and free the both of you from its contract.
What path is taken?
