Chapter 41

Which way do you go to get out of here?

Away To The Left.

Crawling painfully along with your tentacles, roots dragging and growing more torn up and bruised by the second you head left along the cliff face. Dana heals you a half dozen times before you reach a place where the cliff is cut out by a small landslide and slopes at a 51° angle rather than a 90° vertical cliff face, or worse.

You clamber up this sharp and difficult embankment, and after another hour of sliding back and losing vineholds, make it up to the top. Exhausted in a way you never thought you COULD be you root yourself in the deep loam of the oak, ash, thorn and rowan forest above and you breathe a contented sigh of relief: that is until Dana says something that gets you thinking, and wondering about where you are.

"Is it just me, or does this place look familiar to you some how?" Dana asks, as you stare about you with a growing sense that she is right.

Yes, it does, and I also get the sense that we will not be welcomed here. You say starring at the oak, ash, thorn, and rowan trees wondering why that particular combination sets off alarm bells in the back of your head, yet also feels like a homecoming.

"Just sit tight for a minute: I am going to pray to Vienna and ask for guidance." Dana says, and climbs down to the forest floor.

What does Vienna say?
