Chapter 2

What's next?
Author’s Note
Mind control? Yeah, yeah. I know.
Anyone who’s been following my stories for a while is probably a little surprised to see me posting in this category at all.
In forum chats and DMs, I’ve spent years insisting this was one of those genres that just didn’t really do anything for me.
Most of the time, it feels too easy.
Give the protagonist a magic artifact, some futuristic device, psychic powers, whatever — and suddenly everything bends exactly the way he wants it to. No effort. No consequences. No awkward conversations. No real risk.
Where’s the tension in that?
And honestly? I still kind of feel that way.
That said… I have read a few mind-control stories that genuinely hooked me. When they’re written well, they can be ridiculously entertaining.
But the question that kept bouncing around in my head was this:
Can you make a mind-control story suspenseful?
Can you make it feel dangerous instead of convenient?
That was the spark behind this project.
So I decided to try.
For now, I’m planning this as a short story — probably around ten chapters or so — and then we’ll see where things go.
And yes, before anyone asks:
I do have a very specific ending in mind already.
Let’s just say Lukas eventually discovers a use for mind control that’s a lot more intimate, dangerous, and messed up than simply getting women into bed.
So if you think you already know where this story is going…
You probably don’t.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts, reactions, theories, complaints, rants, etc.
Honestly, I’m really curious what people will think.

It Would Be So Easy
Some temptations are impossible to resist.
Lukas arrives before sunrise with a car full of boxes and a past he has no intention of discussing. The quiet neighborhood seems perfect for disappearing. Until Hannah. Beautiful. Married. Curious. The kind of woman who smiles too easily and asks exactly the wrong questions. Lukas should avoid her. Instead, he finds himself watching her, thinking about her, fighting impulses he thought he buried long ago. Because getting close to people has never been safe around him. And Hannah has no idea what kind of man just moved in next door.
