What does Karlach do?

Attempt a Rescue

Oh, goblins be damned! There was no way Karlach was going to sit back and let that poor girl be violated! Fear had never stayed her blade before. Readying her battleaxe, she prepared to strike.

Meanwhile, the poor half elf looked terrified. "Guys, please, we can talk about this," Shadowheart pleaded, her eyes darting fearfully from one goblin to the next. "I'm a cleric of Shar. I... I have healing spells. If you have any wounded, I can- HEY!"

One of the goblins, tired of her babbling, whacked her in the back of the leg with his club. He did not swing hard enough to break bone, just enough to **** her to her knees. Looming over her, the goblins got ready to enjoy their prize.

Which is exactly when Karlach charged in.

She skewered one goblin before anyone knew what hit them. As soon as they did see the tiefling lording over them, bloody battleaxe in hand, they panicked. She took down two more as they ran away, ducking behind cover and jumping into the nearby houses. Looking down at the terrified half-elf, Karlach offered her a hand.

"You..." The cleric mumbled, too stunned to take the outstretched hand. "I've seen you... a few moments ago, a vision..."

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Karlach barked, reaching down and grabbing the half elf by the collar. She dragged her too her feet before adding "No time to chat, love. We gotta get moving!"

The tiefling was right. The initial surprise was already wearing off, the goblins realizing that this barbarian was here to poach their ****! A few arrows zinged through the air, shot haphazardly in the girls direction. Most flew wide, though one managed to nick Karlach's arm.

"N-no, we can't!" Shadowheart was trembling, the incoming arrowfire not helping. "I've already lost to them once. There's too many of them! And they have these huge, wolf-like creatures that-"

"Well, you didn't have me before!" The tiefling interrupted, trying to shake her out of her panic. "Now, it doesn't matter what's possible. We need to move NOW or else we're done for. So let's just- AHHH!"

Karlach cried out as an arrow embedded itself in her side. Tugging the arrow out, she saw it was not a deep wound. Still, with the goblins closing in, it was not a good start.

Can the girls make it out?
