Attack, Rip The Tentacle Apart

Planting your feet firmly into the ground, you grasp the tentacle with both hands and pull back as hard as you can. Almost immediately it stops pulling you towards the pod, and you soon find yourself with the upper hand, actually pulling the thing OUT of it. It's not long before you hear a squishy ripping sort of noise, the thick tissue of the rubbery tentacle ripping apart. It takes just a few more tugs and the tentacle splits near the middle, most of it retreating back into the pod as you fly backwards and land hard on the floor.

It takes a few seconds worth of panting before you can build up the will to get yourself off your back and sit up. When you do, you feel something tugging at your arm. Surprise shoots through you when you spot, still wrapped tightly, the section of the tentacle that didn't retreat, its loose end thrashing about wildly. The slimy eel-like appendage is coiled about your wrist three times, with only about half a foot extended outwards beyond that and swinging away, and as you watch it begins to spin about, spiralling up your arm. You grasp at its "tail" and try to pull it away but to no avail, the short length resisting your attempts with ease as it slithers further towards your shoulder.

It soon slides past your shoulder and circles around your torso, still moving ceaselessly and resisting your every attempt at stopping it.
