Asuka, Two Weeks Later

A couple weeks later during club practice Sonobe approached Asuka while he looked upset at his hands and baseball gloves.

“What’s wrong Morishima-kun?” Sonobe asked as though he didn’t already know.

“It’s odd. I train every evening but the speed of my pitches keeps dropping.”

“Oh yeah. It’s called the cleansing reaction.” Sonobe lied gladly. “Your strength drops just temporarily while you gain more muscle.”

Asuka looked up at Sonobe, their height difference now quite obvious in Sonobe’s favor. “Is that so?”

“By the way, did you get your hands on a girl’s uniform and makeup tools?”

“Yeah. I asked Rui to buy some for me.” Asuka answered. Poor Rui, the classmate and club equipment manager he always came onto.
