Assure the Amazon

Candice raised her hands and gave a reassuring smile.

"I get it, I get it," She said, "I will be sure to put in the work like any other person".

Though typically Candice was calling the shots, something about Mrs.Vaughn made her want to comply. Whether it was her authoritative way of speaking or the steel in her gaze, Candice wasn't going to challenge her. Mrs.Vaughn seemed to accept this, rose to her feet, and walked towards Candice. Despite previously cooperating, Candice did not want to be a complete pushover and rose to meet her.

"Good," stated Mrs.Vaughn, "see that you do. That other boy, Trent, might be able to help you with that. Alex and he have crossed paths before, much to the latter's detriment."

"I just might do that," replied Candice. Despite being here for work, she had liked him and had wondered if she would have the chance to see if everything was proportional. Mrs.Vaughn had made her way to Candice and stood only a foot away. Close enough that Candice could smell her perfume, a light vanilla, and notice that her attire was not fully professional. She could see the outline of garter belts below the snug pencil skirt.

"That bit of information was on the house. If you need anything else, it comes with a price."

As Mrs.Vaughn said this, her hand touched Candice's chin and Candice met her gaze. Mrs.Vaughn's piercing blue eyes bore into Candice and she could feel her pulse quicken.

"Am I understood?"

Candice nodded quietly as her cheeks began to feel hot.

"Good," was the reply and for a moment, a small smirk appeared on Mrs.Vaughn's face. Her hand fell away and she stepped across the room to the door. Candice stood quietly where she was.

That was new, she thought. Slowly her pulse returned to normal and the heat left her cheeks.

She still had a job to do and so far she hadn't made any progress. Though, Mrs.Vaughn's suggestion did seem worthwhile.
