What's next?
Ask what she wants
"What do I want?" Sasha's laugh is low and rich, vibrating through your chest where her palm still pins you against the wall. "Such a simple question, Alex. Such a loaded answer."
She pulls back slightly, enough that you can see her face properly. Her blue eyes dance with amusement, studying your expression the way you might examine a chemical compound under a microscope. Her free hand comes up to trace your jawline with one finger, the touch feather-light but carrying the implicit promise of the strength behind it.
"What I want is to enjoy what I've earned," she says, her voice dropping to a purr. "I worked so hard, Alex. Years of research. Sleepless nights. Failed experiments. And then... breakthrough." Her finger trails down your neck, feeling your pulse jump beneath her touch. "I remade myself into something perfect. Something superior. And now I get to experience what that means."
Her hand moves from your chest to your shoulder, gripping just hard enough that you feel the steel in her fingers through your shirt. "But specifically, what do I want with you?" She leans in again, her lips nearly brushing your ear. "I want to see how long your famous intellect holds out against reality. How many conversations will we have where you try to reason with me? Appeal to my ethics? My scientific integrity?" She laughs again, the sound sending shivers down your spine. "Maybe you'll try to bargain. Or plead. Everyone breaks eventually, Alex. Everyone submits. The only question is how long it takes."
She releases you suddenly, stepping back and smoothing her blouse with casual grace. The absence of her touch is almost disorienting. "But I'm patient. I have time. And honestly?" Her smile turns predatory. "The clever ones are so much more satisfying when they finally kneel."
She turns, walking back toward her office with a sway to her hips that's clearly deliberate. At her doorway, she pauses and looks back at you over her shoulder. "Come see me when you're ready to stop pretending you have any control here. My door is always open for you, professor." The word drips with mockery. "Though I'd recommend sooner rather than later. I get impatient. And when I get impatient..." She trails off, letting the threat hang in the air.
Then she's gone, her door clicking shut behind her, leaving you alone in the hallway with your racing heart and the scent of jasmine still thick in your nostrils.
