Chapter 5 by spentbob spentbob

What do you want to ask her about?

Ask how much it costs to place an advertisement card in her shop window

You figure it seems an ordinary and everyday enough thing to ask about, and you can think up a few good reasons to actually take advantage of the local advertisement board - you could put a card asking townsfolk to contact you for an interview, or asking if anyone seen Tony or any other of the missing men, or maybe even advertise your services in some capacity? Your cash stash is limited, and a job would also be good cover while you're here.

You've worked a whole lot of different temporary contracts and odd jobs while supporting your way through university and the lean **** wastelands of the freelance journalist that came after. At various times you've worked in retail and as a janitor, in offices and warehouses, as a barman and a private tutor.

True, you never did any of them for long - some jobs you hated, some jobs seemed to hate you, some bosses you hated, some bosses hated you, - but you can honestly claim experience at them all. A whole afternoons worth, at the very least.

You stop your musing as you hear a cough and realist the plump and pretty shopkeeper is still staring at you, waiting for a response. You ask about the advertisement board, and she smiles and tells you it's just fifty pence per card per week, and asks if you wish to place an advertisement.

Well? Advertise your services (at...?), ask for interviewees, or put up a "Lost Pet" sign for Tony?
