Ask about her weaknesses

“OK let’s start with how I can keep you prisoner. They say you lose your powers if you are bound by a man? So does that mean you’re powerless now?”

She scoffs slightly. “No I’m afraid that’s just a myth.”

“Well that's disappointing. I’d also heard you lose your powers if your belt is removed, but your costume doesn’t seem to actually have a belt?”

“Another of your urban myths. My powers come from the gods, not from my costume.”

“Yeah, I thought it sounded too easy. Where’d they come up with that one?”

Apparently the lasso doesn’t care if a question is meant to be rhetorical. “Actually I suspect Batman started it so criminals would waste time trying to grab a belt that doesn’t exist.”

“Huh. I didn’t think the Bat had a sense of humor. So how can I remove your powers?”

“I don’t know any way you can, unless you could somehow convince the gods to take them away from me. Or if you have access to state of the art ARGUS power dampeners.”

“We’ll just put that down as a no then. No other weaknesses?”

She shrugs, which does fascinating things to her cleavage. “I’m not invulnerable or bulletproof. I can be knocked ****, as you saw earlier. I have to breathe. I can be affected by gasses or poisons, tho I am more resistant than the average mortal. Some enemies have tried to use my compassion against me, tho I do not consider that a weakness.”

Hmm, not much to work with there. “OK but just to be clear: you can’t escape from the lasso unless I make a mistake or someone rescues you?”

“Until you make a mistake or someone rescues me, yes.”

“And you have to do what I say?”

“No, I cannot lie but I don’t have to follow your commands. The lasso frees the truth, it doesn’t enslave the will.”

“Heh, how many villains have found that out the hard way?”

“I haven’t bothered to count them. Many.”

“Interesting. Does the lasso have any other powers?”

“It can often free people from outside mental control, and occasionally free them from their own self-delusions. This can occasionally operate as a form of what you would call hypnosis, making people more suggestible. But it can’t **** them to do anything they don’t already want to do on some level.”

You tuck that fact away for later. “What about your bullet-deflecting bracelets?”

“The bracers are bulletproof, but the speed and reflexes needed to catch bullets with them are mine.”

“Noted. Anything else?”

“My tiara helps protect my mind from psychic attacks. It’s also preternaturally sharp, and can be thrown like a boomerang if one has the skill.”
