Ask If She Wants You To Join Her

« Do you want me to go with you? » You ask Emily, a bit confused by the way she seems to be acting. You catch her quickly eyeroll.

« Obviously! Let’s go! » She exclaims as you follow her into the elevator to head back down to ground level leaving the elevated Capital Room. « It wasn’t obvious to you I wanted you to come with me was it? » She asks while you’re in the elevator. The question kind of catches you off guard a bit for some reason, you didn’t expect her to go back to that. You think for a second to try and figure out the best way to respond to that.

« Was it supposed to be? » Is the best thing you can come up with on the fly, which draws a laugh from Emily and a sigh. Her reaction confuses you, as you start thinking about why she would think her asking where you’re going had made it at all obvious that she wanted you to stay with her.

« Here, I’ll be a little bit more direct this time. I’m going to go check out the communication hub. Do you want to go with me? » She asks you, to which you quickly agree. « Great, follow me. » Emily adds, as you follow her instructions and walk with her towards the Communication Hub, which is one of the closer buildings to the Cardinals Capital Room. Thinking about communication, you check your phone to realize that you don’t have a signal out here.

« Do our phones not work here? » You ask Emily, expecting a pretty simple and blunt response, but instead she just giggles a little bit as if you’re missing something incredibly obvious. You keep a questioning look on her face, which leads to her face palming.

« No Lucas, there’s no phone lines within 100 miles of this place, no cell phone towers, and the school has it’s own communications system specifically designed for internal communications with teachers, other students, etc. Gosh are all boys here this oblivious or is it just a you thing? » She says, careful to not criticize your intelligence but still poking fun at your lack of general awareness of your surroundings. You get embarrassed a little bit by the hint and stay quiet for the rest of the short walk to the communication hub.

Upon arriving you’re greeted by an assistant to help the two of you pick out what kind of communications device is most helpful for what you want and need on a daily basis.

« Hi there, I’m Theo, I’m here to help you both get what you need for school. We got communicators that are very simple or very complicated, very detail oriented or very big picture, some meant to help keep you focused while others will help you have fun. Whatever you want and need, we have something that will suit you here. » The assistant Theo informs you.

« I’m looking for something that will mostly be able to help with school work. Something to stay organized with. » Emily says speaking up first. Theo walks her over to the more school oriented devices, while you just keep looking around a little bit to explore your different options.
