You're actually a government agent, from one of the alphabet soup organisations that the media don't talk about. You are a cog in the wheel of what is essentially the CIA's CIA... but you are a teeny tiny cog.

When you joined up you thought you'd be a superspy, jumping across roofs in the dark of the night, meeting intriguing, exotic, mysterious foreigners and, you know, killing them. Your actual day to day is watching and documenting tapes related to previous missions; what the agents did right, what the agents did wrong, what war crimes they committed, whether there was anything to learn from said war crimes, and whether said war crimes could ever be traced back to your agency.

You saw your next job coming a mile away. After that huge mess in Europe, you knew it would be all hands on deck. President's daughter gets kidnapped by a bizarre cult? People will want to look at that real close, make sure it never ever happens again. You've been given all the surveillance tapes they recovered from the church in the centre of that village. Seems like the big boss didn't quite trust his followers enough to let them off the leash unobserved. There were plenty of cameras, and you've got a good number of tapes left in okay condition, despite how much chaos the Kennedy kid caused. You've been told to start by assessing how the cult treated Miss Graham prior to Kennedy's arrival. Apparently she got sick, or she got a parasite, or something (you don't really follow the agency gossip), and they want to make sure there won't be any more surprises with her health.
