Chapter 4

A world of isolation.
Ashley's life
I saw the world shift again, and became confused. Our dining room was the same except for one big difference. A smaller table was put in the corner of the north-west wall. How house was somewhat big and our kitchen was as well, and had a arch way to go the living room on the south side, as well as the spice cabinet being there. On the north side was the kitchen counters, cabinets, windows, sink, oven, fridge, and a microwave imbedded in the upper cabinets. The east side had two doors, one that goes outside and the other a bathroom. the west had only the walk in pantry door, so we filled the walls with pictures and crosses. I bring this up because Ashley was sitting at the table in the corner and was looking down at her food, eating what seemed like stale or reheated versions of what was on my plate, buttered bread, bacon, and scrambled eggs.
She wore gym short shorts and a jersey with the sides absent, leaving her sports bra on display as well as the side of her torso. She wasn't a workout nut, but she kept herself in shape, and it showed with the little fat on her belly. I always like girls that wore Tomboy clothes. She noticed my gaze and put on a sneer that didn't quite hide the blush that formed.
"What are you looking, loser?" Somehow, when a girl looks like that, I don't even mind the insult. Especially as she wore that outfit for me. Before I could respond though, our mother yelled.
"ASHLEY LILLIAN HERVEY!! You apologize to your brother right now!" I jumped at the uncharacteristic aggression that our mother used, especially as I looked between the two, and saw Ashley gulp nervously and look back at her food and mumbled.
"Sorry, Paul." Our mother stomped up to her and grabbed her plate of food. She turned harsh eyes towards my sister.
"You will look him in the eyes properly and mean it, or no breakfast." I widened my eyes at the **** response, but before I could do anything, Ashley stood up quickly, walked in front of me, and stood there, awkwardly. She looked straight into my eyes and I saw terror. I knew one of the wishes was to make her fear me, yet she seemed far more afraid of mother. I realized I didn't know what happened in this time line, but then I tried to remember what happened a few seconds ago, and I remembered two separate thought processes. I think I would need time to start to concentrate to remember everything.
"P-please, B-brother. I'm sorry that I yelled at you. I won't do it again, I-I swear. You can look as long as you want, Please f-forgive me." She had unshed tears in her eyes while she said this, and I felt that she truly was sorry. Should I take advantage of this? It would probably take a few rules to get mother to be okay with it, or I could spend a few timeless seconds to remember whatever the norm was here.
