Captain Shepherd grinned to himself. Obviously the best way to ensure he remained adequately entertained was to try and hire on as many attractive female crew as possible. While he doubted he could get a full complement (with the exception of Hina, of course) of beauties, he would do his best.

Composing himself, Jon Shepherd Captain of the illustrious Starship Transient prepared to face his nemesis, paperwork.

He tagged the comm system. "Hina, send me the files and I'll narrow it down so we don't have to do too many interviews." "Gotcha 'cap"

With that, Captain Shepherd surveyed the files. Hina had done well, all of them had full body holoshots along with their detailed resumes.

First up were the candidates for ships physician. Shepherd figured if he was going to hire purely on competence in any field it was going to be this one. Having a sexy doctor was all well and good until you actually needed skilled medical care. He knew from experience he didn't give a damn what a doctor looked like while they were patching up his guts or dealing with burns.

The first was a doctor Simone Tamm. Shepherd had to fight the urge not to hire her purely on her holoshot. She was dressed professionally enough for any of these application shots. She had long black hair, a stunning face, and some pretty legs showing from even the fairly modest grey skirt she was wearing in the shot. The loose white top she was wearing didn't show off her breasts, but they must be sizable to be making those dents in the top. Forcing himself to concentrate, Shepherd turned to her resume. All signs pointed to competence and her references were glowing. The only downside was that she hadn't done spacer care much, and there were a lot of unique injuries that were much more common in space and on IP ships than on planet.

The next was an all too familiar face. Doctor Tanner Myers. He was an ugly old cuss who drank too much and bounced from ship to ship. Despite his discipline issues though he was an old hand at space medicine and could handle complex operations even while on a raging bender.

The other applicants didn't stand out nearly as much as either of those two.
