As if she'd Forget the Ass with Ass!

“Of course ah remember you, Maria. How could ah forget the ass with the ass!” Texas declared with a grin. Sure, it had been a few years since the events of the ‘Crooked Circus’ where she had teamed up with this Mexican Federales to bring down BB Winterbottom, but Maria Flores had been one of the highlights of that adventure. "It's good to see you again, though ah wish it were under better circumstances," the weasel said as a frown crossed her face.

Maria wrapped her arms around Texas, pulling her into a hug, her soft stomach squashing against the Sheriff as the musky stench of her body made Texas gag slightly. Clearly she'd been here for a while. "It's bueno to see you all the same, Texas. I don't know who put out a warrant for me, but it's been rough. More than a few criminals I helped put in here, and they've been sure to recordar me of the fact," she said with a slight wince. "Still, I am the ass with ass. I've kept most of them at bay, got a nombre for myself now," she declared, grinning as she released Texas and took a step back. "How are you here?"

"Same as you, Maria. Ah had a warrant put out on me, though ah know who posted it. Mayor Vivian. Whatever she's planning she wanted me as far away from Gold Springs as possible. Ah shudder to think what she's doing there, and can only hope April's holding the fort until ah can get outta here," Texas replied, frowning as she couldn't help but imagine the villains of Gold Springs literally walking all over April. She trusted her, but the pair of them barely managed it sometimes.

The donkey stepped back and nodded her head. "Prison's locked up tighter than el trasero de un mosquito."

Texas vaguely understood what she was saying, anything on a mosquito was going to be tight after all. She looked at the other cells, the jeering from them still so loud it covered up her words as she whispered to Maria. "Warden Ramshackle's made me an offer... and ah'll see what ah can do for you if you help me out with it."

Maria spat at the mention of the warden. "I don't trust ese culo. She was all too happy to slap chains around me when I came to bring in another bandido."

"She's the one in charge here, and she's promised to organise a hearing if ah stop a prison break that might be happening soon. She seemed pretty sure it was happening. Can ah count on you to help me investigate?" Texas asked, giving Maria an honest look.

Maria clicked her tongue, then sighed. "Well I suppose she can't make things any worse. Sure. You can count on mi ayuda," she declared with a nod of her head. "And I might have a first lead for you to look into in the morning..."
