Artaria vs. Kaid

The white haired Melinda healed Artaria the best she could, both physically and mentally by erasing some of the memories of her ****.

"She will be able to fulfil her duty." said Melinda.

"Are you sure?" asked Hector.

"She is the only one who can."

After a few days, Artaria woke up.

"You highness, I am glad you are safe." said Hector.

"Where am I?" asked Artaria.

"You are just outside the High Isles."

"What happened? Its a blur."

"You endured much **** at Vortisax's hands. Melinda had to erase some of the damage done to your psyche."

"Unfortunately, erasing memories is not an exact magic. We should make sure you have not forgotten your combat training as well." said Melinda.

"She's right. Kaid, make sure Artaria is still able to fight."

After Artaria put on her armour, Kaid took her outside and handed her a sword.

"I won't go easy on you just because you're a girl." he said.

"I wouldn't want you to." said Artaria.

Artaria and Kaid began their sparring match. Artaria swung her sword but Kaid blocked it with his axe.

"Never underestimate a dwarf." Kaid said.

Kaid hit Artaria in the leg with his leg. Fortunately, her armour protected her from the blade.

"Our lower centre of gravity gives gives us an advantage with an axe against taller opponents." Kaid said.

This was true, Artaria had to bend down to swing her sword at Kaid. Artaria tried kicking Kaid but he hit her leg with the back of his axe, knocking her down. Artaria got up. She crouched down so that she was facing Kaid.

"Clever but being crouched down like that must be exhausting." said Kaid.

Artaria got down on all fours and continued to fight from that position. This proved surprisingly effective.

Eventually, Artaria knocked Kaid to the ground.
