Arron gets a partner

Arron looked up from his desk as the door to his office opened and in stepped a young woman who smiled broadly and handed him a portfolio. "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Andrews."

"It's A..Alison, you can call me Alison," he responded, hoping that his momentary hesitation went unnoticed by the young girl. She simply nodded and the two of them sat down at his desk to go over the information contained on there. The woman, name was Sandra, was a temporary staffer sent over from HR until the new employees could be reassigned the following week to his care but he hoped that there would be some opportunity to work with her again. She was only 22 years old but the girl, in the few days since he had started working with her, was a very independent, driven young worker and she had a slightly infectuous attitude that he knew would be helpful.

That and he was frankly lonely at looking at nothing around him.

"So, the numbers are going to be reported to you every week around Tuesday, your staff meetings will be held on Wednesday mornings, and time to inspect the operations will be built into your schedule throughout the week." Sandra ticked off the notes from her pad. "You also have a briefing with Mr. Howard from Finance every morning. He's your point man on the operations aspect of the casino."

"Mr. Howard?"

Sandra smiled even more brightly, if that was even possible. "He's my favorite. He's very kind, takes care of all of his interns, and even makes sure to know each person's name and face." She leaned forward and dropped her voice a bit. "He's also single, don't know why that is."

"I-I see..."

"I mean, he's old enough to be my dad but I can see the attraction that other women would find in him. Tall, very well built, well spoken...nice ass..."

Arron's eye raise caused Sandra to laugh it off and she turned back to her notes. "Anyway, Mr. Howard will be working with you for the next few months on the hotel modernization project. Head of Housing will be Ms. Philips, she's super nice but a bit catty..." As Sandra described the people whom he would be working with, Arron made a mental note to check with downstairs to getting Sandra under him. There was no sense in letting this one go. Besides, aren't I some sort of boss around here??

"Alison?" Arron blinked as he realized Sandra had paused and was looking at him.

"Sorry, was lost for a second. Listen, you think you could do me a favor? I need to work on getting to know the layout of the place."

Sandra nodded. "Sure, you've been coming here every day, bet you would like to look around? I'll see if there's another admin around to help you. I gotta get back to H.R. before they bust me a new one." She tapped her phone and brought up the calendaring program for a moment and then nodded. "Speaking of the devil, he's actually available."

Before Arron could say anything, Sandra tapped the call button and a few moments later, he picked up. "Mrs. Andrews needs someone to take her and show her the grounds. Would you be available?"

"Sure thing, be up in a moment."

Sandra hung up and looked at Arron's stunned face. "Figured why the hell not? Besides, like I said, too old for me but he's a great catch. I just thought I'd help push you to the head of the line a bit." The young woman looked at her phone and hopped to her feet. "Oops, gotta run!"
