Arriving at the cafe

When you arrived at "La Neige Et La Glace," the atmosphere struck you immediately. Everything was pristine—white chairs, white tables, white walls. It was as if you had stepped into a world of snow and ice, elegant yet minimalistic. You pulled out your phone to translate the name of the cafe, confirming what you suspected: "The Snow and The Ice." The name fit perfectly with the serene, cool ambiance of the place.

A waitress greeted you both warmly and directed you to a seat at a far corner of the cafe. The spot was cozy, offering a bit of privacy away from the other patrons. As you and Sarah sat down, you couldn’t help but admire the cafe’s aesthetic—it felt like being inside a delicate, frosted snow globe.

Sarah glanced around, taking in the surroundings. "This place is beautiful. Good choice, Alex."

You smiled, pleased that she liked it. "Thanks. It’s a nice change of pace."

As you settled into your seats, the waitress brought over menus, and you both started browsing through the selections.

After looking through the menu, you decided to order the carbonara, while Sarah opted for the grilled fish with tartar sauce. The two of you chatted lightly as you waited for your food, the atmosphere comfortable and easygoing after the day’s successful meeting.

When the meals arrived, you both dug in, savoring the delicious flavors. The creamy richness of your carbonara paired perfectly with the light and crispy garlic bread on the side, while Sarah seemed equally pleased with her grilled fish, dipping each bite into the tangy tartar sauce.

As you enjoyed your dinner, you couldn’t help but be aware of the outfit you were still wearing—the office skirt and blouse that, while stylish, were far from what you’d normally wear outside of work. The thought of going home dressed like this made you anxious, especially since you weren’t sure if your mom would be awake when you got back.
