Arrive at the park

You parked and hoped out the car, you had arrived half an hour early so you had some time to spare. You saw a group of adults cheering to some girls running long jump so you walked over you stood off to the side of them and scanned through the kids finally seeing Anna who was sitting on the ground waiting.

“Mr Townes?” You turned to see Victoria Cox standing behind you.

“No it’s my niece, her parents are held up.” You explained, “Do you have a second?”

She nodded and once you got back to the field pointed at the a blonde girl who had jaunt attempted the long jump. As she got up from the sand you joined the other parents clapping. Victoria cheered for her daughter Olivia as she joined her competitors. The three girls took turns jumping until they were done.

Once all five jumped Victoria went to talk with the coach while you waited near Anna. The two of your talked and you explained that you will be taking her home, she smiled an faked if you could get ice cream. Once the competition ended everyone headed towards their cars or buses.

As you approached your car you passed Victoria who was helping Olivia pack her stuff in the boot.

“Can Anna come with us?” Olivia asked Victoria.

“I don’t know ask Mr Turner.” You scratched your head unsure what to say. Victoria gave you a reassuring nod so you agreed. The two girls ran off and hopped in the van with the other 3 girls from their class.

“What did I agree to?” You asked. Victoria explained that they were gonna have a play at Jessica’s house.

“I’ll tell Zoe she’ll be fine with it.” She said
