Arrival in Hell

The message from her mother sounded urgent Wonder Woman thought as she flew home to meet with her. Hippolyta had asked her to put in for an extended leave of absence from the Justice League and return to Themyscira immediately and had even ordered her not to tell anyone where she was going saying “the fate of the Amazon race depends on this issue staying a secret and outsiders did not need to become involved.” While she found this part of the message very strange, she had been given an order by her queen and more importantly her mother and Diana would follow it. As she crossed the barrier that shielded Themyscira from prying eyes, Wonder Woman was shocked by what she could see. There were several large towers of smoke coming from the island and it seemed there were a lot less trees then there were before. Clearly something was going on and she needed to land on the island to find out more.

Landing just outside the gates to the city Wonder Woman saw something that immediately caused her blood to run cold. There were men guarding the gate armed with off world weapons. With few exceptions, men were not allowed on the island and their very presence and the fact that she didn’t see any of her sisters told her these men must have control of the island. This only brought more questions into Diana’s mind, who were these men that had apparently successfully invaded her home, how had they done it and most importantly what fate had befallen her mother and her sisters.

Before she could think more on this, an energy blast from nowhere hit Diana in her back and caused her to fly forwards before she landed on her face.
