'I'll buy this one,' you say, holding up the green tome. At the declaration, Xharlion finally looks up at you. He glances at the tome in your hand with a look akin to surprise.

"I wouldn't have pegged you for one interested in the magic arts," Xharlion says, almost accusingly.

'What can I say,' you say shrugging. 'I like to read.' Xharlion narrowed his eyes at you suspiciously. L'Arce takes the blue tome from you and glances at the green one.

"That one is pretty expensive," L'Arce says. "I found that in the ruins of the old Shade tower. It was one of the few things I hung onto during that whole fiasco."

"I...knew you looked familiar..." Xharlion mumbled. You glance at him then at L'Arce.

"We know each other?" L'Arce asks and raises an eyebrow. Xharlion shook his head.

"Nevermind..."

'How much is it?' You interrupt before the conversation could dip into anymore awkwardness.

"1,200 gold."

You silently stare at her. Your eyes slowly squint. "1,200 gold....for a book?"

"A book?" L'Arce blanched.

"This is an original tome from the Shade tower from one of the most prestigious Magis known to man. Bella Wellspring! She was one of the first elves to ever become a magi! I'm basically giving you a discount!" L'Arce shouted.

'Okay, I get it. It's rare,' you grumble. 'I'll take it.' You reach into the gold pouch you keep strapped inside your boot.

"Ew. Sweaty feet gold...." L'Arce grumbles as you hand over the gold. You glare at her before turning your attention to Xharlion.
