Opening the door revealed it to be Brunhilde, what a surprise. She was once again wearing her dark leather biking outfit, probably because she came here on her bike that was now standing in the driveway of the house; his mom would probably need the car later tomorrow, but not before John would leave for school anyway so it would be okay. Looking her over, John could see that she looked really tired, but also relaxed now that she saw him.

"Sup?" was her simple greeting to him opening the door, "was a bit quicker than expected, hope that's not a problem." Checking the clock, he noticed that she was indeed earlier than ten minutes, not that he noticed or minded. "It's fine, didn't have anything important to do anyway, just some loot stuff. Come on in first, and take off your shoes."

An idea seemingly popped into Brun's mind as she got a devious grin on her face and quickly moved closer to John, so close in fact that he lost his balance and fell backward. The next moment he already had a booted foot with a deep profile running along his crotch while Brun looked at him from above, "Would you help me with that?" she asked in an innocent voice.

Slightly grumbling something about 'one giant tease', John did nonetheless help her with the heavy biker boots and freeing her feet from it. After doing the same to the other foot, he thought it was time for some payback.

Quickly standing up and moving close to her, he starts to pull the zipper of her leather jacket down. Seeing as how Brun didn't expect it to happen, she flushed slightly and looked surprised at John, who in turn only grinned, "You looked like you could use some help with the jacket, too. Brun took a look around his room after she entered, "You got some nice stuff here, I've got some of those statues as well," she said while looking especially at the Aloy and the A2 statue. "So, one: What's that box? Two: what happened to that dick of yours since we last met? That's nothing that should happen in a matter of three to four hours."

The Loot Chest was still standing exactly where he left it to stand in front of his bed. "Oh, right, the 'Loot Chest'. It's something that I got when I 'cleared' a dungeon just before you texted me. It says it contains some piece of equipment of varying rarity inside." "So wait, creatures inside the Barriers drop loot for you? And you can take that out of the Barriers with you? That is some serious power you got there... I thought that the gaming thing with the levels was nice and fine, but this is seriously powerful!" "Uuuuhh... I guess I figured that it was something extraordinary with how Gaia herself seems to give me stuff..." "Well, what are you waiting for? That was something you didn't need to tell John twice as he took the box into his hands and ripped open the top of it. The inside seemed like it was disproportionally big, seeing as how the box easily fit onto his lap with space to spare and he could pull out a long cloak of some black material. The cloak looked very stylish, it was simple and pretty slim cut, but, looking at it, John was sure that it would fit him perfectly. The cloak had a big zipper on the front and big pull chords hanging from a wide hood. Casting Observe on it was the obvious second move:

"It's from something? A game?" John asked

"That cloak is worn by villains called Nobodies. They are all... let's call them 'special' in their mindsets, either very kooky or just a special kind of crazy. Fits that you got that cloak. As you are seemingly kind of crazy and are a nobody for now. Also, I can feel the magic on that thing, that's some good stuff you got there, for a noob." Growling quietly at the low-key insult, John tackled Brun, or he at least tried to, as she reacted quickly and dodged his tackle in a way that made him land on the bed in the corner of the room. You're still too much of a rookie to get the drop on me, but I can see that you got some serious upgrades since this afternoon. Explain, now." "W-well... After you left, I thought that I needed some kind of upgrade to not almost die again to the next best thing that I would encounter, and I knew that I could get skills and spells through specific books like I got a biology-related spell by holding a biology book. So I thought about picking up some RPG book to get a ton of spells. So I went to a game store called Treasure Cove to get one of those books." At that point, Brun interrupted him with big eyes.

"Wait, you know the Treasure Cove? So I'm guessing you know Mariana?" "Wait, you know her by her real name?" John asked incredulously. "Oh...uhm...yeah? She pays us to keep that shop of hers off the grid. We send a runesmith there every couple of days to refill those runes. In return, we get money and information from her. And also, I get some sweet discount in the shop which I regularly use. She's basically one of our only sources of income. I don't think I was supposed to tell you that... could you please keep that a secret?"

Well, that was a coincidence. "Does everyone in the Abyss know everyone else in this town?" "Not really, we know of the biggest organizations around the town and the country, but we don't know everyone. We only know Mariana because we picked her up when she decided to leave the Abyss and gave her shelter. "Riiiight... So, as I said, I went to the Treasure Cove to get an RPG book to get some new spells. Since I got the spell from a biology book that went into detail about its topic, I said to Mary that I would need a book that went overboard with its descriptions. Well, it seems like someone was anticipating that I would ask exactly that because a magically manipulated version of a Shadowrun rulebook was sent to her just a couple of days before. Mariana then took me prisoner, assuming I was an impostor. After explaining I wasn't and how I got my powers, once again, she believed me and let me go from the confinement, explaining the Abyss a bit to me. Then I took the book, got a message from Gaia about how strange things are happening in the town and then got the upgrade that made it able to look through other's eyes and the Bond skill."

"Ah, so that's how that happened. Then you got on a bus going home?" she asked, trying to accelerate the retelling a bit. "Not yet, the upgrade knocked me out, and when I woke up I trained with Mary for a bit before getting on the bus going home and trying to open a Barrier of my own," he thought better of it than to tell her about the nightmare/vision thing where he would seemingly kill her. He also omitted the thing about his mother, since that wasn't really important to Brun.

"Oooh~ trying yourself on some Barriers? How did that work out?" "Like shit, because apparently someone hijacked the barrier, made it hostile and filled it with mechanical spiders." Brunhilde had to laugh at that, "Oh man; you sure stumble from one shitshow to the next. But you apparently got out of that mostly fine. What happened in that Barrier?"

At that John had to sigh... should he tell her? They were kinda kicking it off really well, how would she react to knowing that he just fucked another girl? Well, honesty was the best way to go in this case probably. "Well... I fought the spiders, killed some of them, got saved last second by some guy falling from the sky talking like he knew me, only to then be assaulted by the new controller of the dungeon and then... I guess I got ****? That would describe it pretty well, I was bound to the wall with spider webs and blindfolded, and then she fucked me. "That-oooh- sounds like a lot happening for your first day with powers. A lot of girls wanting to bone you and actually boning you and some sweet ass upgrades. I should really stick with you; there always seems to be something happening and it never gets boring.
