Arc 4: Smoke in the Sky (Nemo Rulz Part 1)

Author's note: I wanted to write some actual hero fighting scene kinda deal and I think I overcooked this since I made 4 parts, but I release them all at once since I know most are here for smut, so from part 1 to 4 its just pure fighting if you don't want to read, that's all.

"Wonderboy!" Most of the workers started to headpat and give small slaps on the back at my person. I was practically surrounded by them as I looked with such a smug at my master and Tsuyu. I was in praise heaven. If doing hero stuff like this always gets you rewarded, I could aim to become All Might at this rate, if I was honest. "All right, everyone settle up; the heroes are here, so we can start organizing in teams." I was happy to be paired up with the girls.

So as everyone was split into teams, I was expecting either Momo or Tsuyu to be with me, but instead I was assigned to zone Z of the city... Alongside Tokoyami and some guy called Yosetsu Awase, the bird guy I knew from class 1-A, he has this edgy look around him, but the other guy was a mystery to me, and I didn't like this pairing!! I wanted my sweethearts!

"Umm, excuse me, not that I am against it, but why are we going to zone Z?"

"It's the most underworked zone, a bunch of trees and prepared fields and on the sout there is some buildings already done, nothing much there! It was left to be mostly a working area, for large warehouses or others. With your quirks, the work will go great! We actually spent 1 hour after work making a great team-up since your work yesterday, Jack. Are you sure you don't want a career in the construction field? I have a friend that could help you get certificates quickly so you can operate your quirks in construction! Yesterday was a day that I could sleep without having to bathe myself for an hour."

"Oh—uh, okay! Yeah, I appreciate that! Who else is going to be there?"

"Not many people, just a few construction workers and myself, think you can handle it, Wonderboy?" That nickname made me happy and easy to submit.

"YEAH! I CAN DO THIS!"

"Well, go out there!"

Location: Construction zone Z, New Deika City

I was currently walking next to Tokoyami as he handled some heavy iron bars. I was going to wield them later, so he was carrying them for me with his quirk, Dark Shadow. I was very quiet; I don't know what to talk about with the guy, really.

"So, uh, is your quirk alive?"

"Yes, Dark Shadow is sentient."

"Cool, cool, that's a new one... So, uh, if you get a girlfriend, would she have to date you both or?"

"What?"

"Sorry, that was a strange thing to ask."

"Understood." He looked away as I looked away as well, was making friends this hard? How did I make friends before?. Was I am good at casual flirting or wanting to mingle but not at making friends. Should I try flirting with him to be more friendly? Would that be weird?

"I, uh, like your beak."

"Hm?"

"It's curvy and pointed; bet you have stabbed people with it."

"I have not! Why do you think I would do that?!" He looked upset at me, or was that just his face?

"I better shut up; I am bad at talking. Sorry." I kept walking with him as I noticed someone floating in the distance. It was flying around the place; however, the colors of their suit in the distance reminded me of something or someone. "Hm..." I simply kept my mouth shut seeing them flying.

"Alright, we are here. We need to assemble them in this shape. Do you think you can do it?"

"Pft, metal is super easy to handle. Yeah, don't worry, I got this. Hey, where is the, uh, the other guy?"

"Awase?"

"Yeah!"

"He went to get more materials; he should be back shortly..."

Somewhere else not too far

"Ugh, I should've left this to Tokoyami! I should've changed spots with Setsuna when asked, but now I am here loading pipes on my own." Yosetsu Awase was loading a few materials that were needed for the construction of the homes in a wheelbarrow, taking a bit of effort too lifting them. He kept walking with the wheelbarrow back to where Jack and Tokoyami were currently speaking, helping build everything.

However, as he made his way there, he heard something behind an alley, clanking, like metal falling to the ground, but it was too loud, almost as if something had broken or fallen apart, followed by a sudden pipe being thrown out of the alley. "Hm? Hello?"

No response came as he noticed the empty alley. He looked at the materials, wondering for a moment if maybe some worker was in trouble or perhaps he had fallen from his staircase. It's better to check because if they did, no one would come look for them in a while. He stepped inside the alley, looking around, trying to find someone, but found nothing. "That's weird." A shadow loomed in the sky before he heard a sudden burst, like something exploding above him. He looked up quickly just to find something flying quickly and away from his position. "A flying quirk? Is there a hero with a flying quirk working with us?" He pulled out his small radio, but as he tried to speak, he heard so much static interfering. "This is... strange."

Someone stepped behind him, slowly and stealthily aiming his hand at him as a trail of blue smoke came out. ["This is unfortunate; you really look like my type."] He said in another language, and Yosetsu turned around before suddenly being hit by a large cloud of blue smoke.

Back to Jack

I sniff the air as it smelled... Funny "Huh, this is odd."

"What is it?"

"Do you not smell that?" I asked Tokoyami as he smelled the air as well.

"Now that you mention it, there is a strange smell lingering in the air."

One of the construction workers came by to explain the smell: "Must be a broken pipe in the sewage; it's always hard to spot them underneath."

"No, it's not a sewage smell. I know this smell from something else, but I can't remember well." That was a lie; I do know where it was from, but it didn't make sense. It couldn't be what I had in mind; it's just impossible, you see. " Hey, that guy is really taking his time." I looked back in the direction he went, wondering what he was doing. "I will go give them a look."

"It's better if you stay building, Jack, seeing your quirk is more proper for it."

"No, no, it's fine; let me check."

"It's okay, I got it, Jack."

"Tokoyami, please! Let me just check for him." I acted a bit insistent with the idea of looking after the 3-B guy, but because there was a thought in my mind, an idea that this was no mistake but rather that there was something else waiting for the two of us at the end of this.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah—no, it's—it's nothing. I just want to clear the thoughts out of myyyyyyyy..." I noticed a large cloud of blue smoke growing, coming close to us from the street, blocking completely our sight. We couldn't see past it, but what's worse is that I had the feeling of something bad going on. First the booming sound of someone flying, now the smoke... "Head..."

"Hmmmm, Dark Shadow." Tokoyami's Dark Shadow extended upwards to try and look past the cloud of smoke. "I don't see what it is." Responding to his sentient quirk, I had the feeling of something being off right now.

"T-Tokoyami, please step back a little before—" Suddenly out of the smoke someone that was trying to run, stumbling, tripping barely able to walk, he puked all over himself as he was trying to run and he even had his face covered by a pipe as if to try and not let the smoke get him—it was the guy from 3-B class that was doing his best to not I inhaled the smoke, but I knew it was too late; this smoke doesn't even need to be inhaled to affect you.

"EVERYONE!" He shouted as loud as he could as if trying to warn us, but the large cloud of smoke that was extending towards us suddenly shot out forward, covering the body of Awase, making him disappear in the cloud of smoke.

"Awase!" Tokoyami moved forward, rushing for him. I froze for a moment, but as I did, I heard my voice being called, "Jack! We need to get the others out of here." That's when it hit me. Could it be him? Could it be the person I was thinking about? If that's the case, there is no point in being afraid, right?

"STEP BACK!" I shouted at Tokoyami as the concrete suddenly made two large concrete hand-like constructions. As I used depiction to change the ground to make it look like it, the hands entered the smoke as I grabbed Awase, who was currently **** with puke dripping down his mouth. This is the sign I needed. "TOKOYAMI, YOU CAN FLY, RIGHT? STAY OUT OF THE RANGE OF THE SMOKE." I grabbed some of the concrete underneath me, shapeshifting it quickly into an improvised gas mask for him to not get hit by the smell of the cloud around it. "DO NOT SMELL IT NOR TOUCH IT. DON'T THINK YOU ARE SAFE JUST BY STAYING AWAY FROM IT, AND IF YOU SEE A PERSON IN THE SMOKE, DO NOT APPROACH HIM! I will get everyone out of here, so please wait for me." I would love for Tokoyami to be the one getting everyone out of here, but I had the sense that it was better to be me in case he attacked. "Everyone, we are leaving the city for a safe zone!" I created a platform to slide above the ground while using my quirk, transporting Awase next to me.

It's all left to you now, bird dude.

Smokecloud (Gross) vs Tsukuyomi

"Who are you?" Tokoyami asked the masked man that started to come out of the cloud. But he didn't get any response; the person in front of him rubbed the back of his head. "Are you not going to respond to me?"

"Etoooo uuuuuh—Hmmmmm—I doOOOUUUH—UUUH." Tokoyami was weirded out by how he was trying to speak; he certainly was trying, but he didn't look in his right mind either. ["This is really difficult," the person said in another language, but he couldn't make himself understood to Tokoyami.] "No, uh- no Japan." He kept moving, stumbling forward; it was a strange look to see, but eventually he simply decided he couldn't do this anymore; he should just do his job and defeat Tokoyami. He aimed his hand at Tokoyami, and a large trail of blue smoke covering the whole street was shot straight at him, making him take flight above him. ["Oh, you fly? That's hmm, yeah."] Tokoyami couldn't make out a word that the man said, but it certainly sounded French.

"Dark shadow!" The large black hand of dark shadow extended to grab the man, but as it was approaching, he suddenly turned around and ran inside his smoke cloud. He noticed something odd: the smoke was also following the person, so he could tell that he was inside the gas. Tokoyami floated above him, trying to get him, striking the ground at random to see if he had luck capturing the villain, breaking some of the concrete while doing so, the person heading to a complex system of alleys and buildings where he would be easily cornered. Almost as if making his job easier, but he could sense something off.

After chasing him for a few seconds, a large trail of smoke was sent towards him again. He couldn't see where it was shot from in time, so instead he opted to dodge it. He tried to clear out the smoke, remembering what Jack told him about not touching it directly, sending a gust of wind with his 'quirk,' clearing a small path where he saw the strange person again before he disappeared in the smoke.

Tokoyami chased after him, dodging blast after blast of smoke, dodging as much of it as he could. Starting to notice a strange pattern, he realized that the person hiding in the smoke wasn't able to shoot constantly; there were always small blasts here and there but never constant. He started to notice a pattern, meaning that the person inside the smoke had trouble pouring smoke continuously. He needed to time it right so he could dive and get him.

He started counting the seconds.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5 And every shot went after that; every 5 seconds, he was leading him to a dead end, the place to perfectly get him after a good few minutes. He was starting to get close; noticing he was cornered, he had the right maneuver to win; it was a matter of time; smoke was shot at him, and he counted again. 1...2...3...4...5 Another shot was given at him, dodging him with ease once more.

He made his move.

Darkshadow blasted another powerful gust of wind, clearing the smoke. The person inside the smoke was flabbergasted at seeing this, pulling out an electric baton, but that didn't worry Tokoyami. All he had to do was restrain him with Darkshadow. The electricity wouldn't get Tokoyami; all he had to do was break the mask. The electricity might weaken Darkshadow due to the light but not actually paralyze him. He dove down, about to strike him, but under the mask of the stranger, a smile was made as he got him closer.

His palms were open, and then... A large wall of concrete split them apart. Tokoyami, shocked, backed away quickly before another gust of smoke was shot at him. As he was able to get away, the wall of concrete fell on top of the stranger as he ran away.

"What the..."

"I TOLD YOU TO NOT GET CLOSE, DAMN IT!" Jack had come back right on time.

Smokecloud (Gross) vs Tsukuyomi and Jack

"His quirk doesn't work every 5 seconds." Tokoyami warned me as I clicked my teeth

"Pure bullshit, you were aiming for the mask as well, weren't you?"

"I— What?"

"The person that you are fighting is not a villain, or not that I was aware of; that fucking bastard is my classmate." Tokoyami looked at the stranger coming out of the rubble speaking again, but this time in English; he got a few words but not all of them.

["Jack, it's a shame to see you if I am honest."]

["Yeah yeah, what in the actual fuck do you think you are doing?"]

["A job, this does not concern you; please leave."]

["Sorry you are hurting my friends, so it does concern me."]

["Friend... Oh, the bird guy? Impressive, I didn't know you could make friends. Last time we met, you called me such a mean word, you know.

["I-I want to apologize for that actually. It was uncalled for I know what you mean"]

["I forgive you; now please leave so I can attack Takoyaki."]

["Okay, first, that was not his name, you know that. Second, Tokoyami, that's his name. Trust me, I have learned their names, but why are you doing this? You weren't a villain before. Third I know you are stalling"]

["This doesn't concern you."]

["Right..."] I turned to look at Tokoyami. "I will speak Japanese for now so listen carefully, this is Gross last I checked he was rank 9, I can beat him, so the two together can destroy him, his quirk is stinkcloud, the smoke that you see there its an extremely powerfullly disgusting cloud that will get you instantly sick and disoriented, sniffing just a bit of this could mean losing, he can use his quirk constantly, he doesn't need that stupid mask so don't aim for it, but the smoke is slow, he was luring you in, we do this stuff, we lie to get advantage while fighting, he can expell his quirk from everywhere on his body, from his eyes to his knees so don't aim for his hands either, the trick to beat this guy is wait and hit him as hard as you can."

"Should I ask why your classmate is attacking us?"

"Doesn't want to tell"

["You are talking too much there; I cannot speak Japanese, you know."]

"He doesn't speak Japanese, so he doesn't know what we are planning. Also, his smoke is not infinite; he can absorb it back so he can shoot it again. When he absorbs, he cannot—" A trail of smoke was shot at the two of them as I quickly slammed the ground, lifting a wall made out of concrete again. "Cannot shoot it back, that's when you hit- AS HARD AS YOU CAN" And quickly punched the wall, forcing it against the building, hoping to squash him down. Of course what I saw next is something I had forgotten: he took flight above the buildings with the smoke. "Oh yeah, and he can fly with the smoke, but it's not infinite; we have the advantage. Let's fuck this bastard up."

"I will follow your lead" A large tsunami made out of rubble lifted towards him as I tried to crush him down.

"[Putain de merde]" He started to fly away using his smoke as both me and Tokoyami chased him away, he kept absorbing on each building some of the smoke back but Tokoyami would instantly try and attack him which made him fly back, he was now actually being cornered, I could notice that he wasn't blowing the smoke everywhere either because it would make him run out of it and leave him open for an attack, I couldn't currently get him from down here but I could make sure he keeps out of the ground long enough for Tokoyami to hit him.

Or that's what I thought at least

[J'ai besoin d'aide ] He blow some clouds of smoke up in the air at random for some reason.

"What is he doing?" Tokoyami asked next to me.

"I have... No idea actually, he is running out of smoke, you see how the clouds are thining down? If he falls I get him, if he doesn't you do, got it?"

"On it!" Tokoyami flew close to him watching how most of the smoke that was wrapped around him finally was starting to dissipate, dark shadow able to strike with more ease, hitting multiple buildings before finally getting to him, slapping him down towards the ground, Gross reacted quickly to try and fly away but instead just soften his fall.

"I got him!" I screamed but as I got close I heard a loud boom again, that familiar sound, it hit me, I know where I have heard it before, I turned around to see a woman diving down at the speed of a plane. "SHIT!"

I got struck right on the arm as she sent me flying away, expecting to hit a building my body turned to diamond to resist the blow but instead I was just kicked down to the bottom of the street, Tokoyami coming at my aid. "Jack are you alright?"

"Hm? Yeah I am more durable than I look, I guess she missed the building"

"Any ideas on who is she..."

"Would you be upset if I tell you that's my classmate too?" She grabbed Gross helping him get on his feet as the two were now 'standing' there.

"Any new ideas then?"

"To be honest yeah, if this becomes a 2 v 2 its better we just keep focusing on Gross and leave her for later, but new rule, do not fly, nor stay above the ground, its easier for us to handle her close to the ground than not, you seem fast when flying but she is faster and more durable too, she will run you over like a truck so don't try to match her in the air or you won't win. Your powers work in darkness right, I can make a dome hiding us and you can finish them off but that's only for her, Gross would end us in a closed space"

"Been a while since I kicked your ass Anderson!" She shouted at me.

"Ah right and she is a prick I forgot about that." I knew she wasn't going to call me Jack I fucking hate that.
