Arc 1: Tsuyu Asui

3 Days later, Location: Jack's home

The air was sharp with cold. A thick fog clung to the earth, swirling lazily around gnarled roots and damp underbrush. The path, slippery from the rain it fall as I was sleeping,the trees making a comfortable sound as the wind blowed, as the silhouetes were looming outside of my window. It was the perfect morning to stay in bed and yet I couldn't do that, 3 days ago was my first introduction to the academia so I had to get up and go today this monday and get to the actual classes I was given the schedule program and Midnight sent me the list with the heroes during that weekend I ask my father to sent me the information from the agencies algonside the work each hero that was sent to me has done, after some breakfast, shower, morning excercise alongside some quick studying and preparation for today's class I decided to head out.

I stepped out of my house... Still raining quite a lot, I brought a change of clothes just in case some bastard got all funny and decides to spray me with water as they drive their car or some quirk kid suddenly blows air at me or something overall it was a good idea to have a change of clothes, also the idea of fighting Eijiro.... Kirishima, most know them as that from what I heard... Was still looming there so I decided to pack my gym clothes... Something I also dislike from the academy is that they use uniforms as well so that's dumb, I took out my umbrella and made my way there.

As I was making my way towards the academy so I can continue my studies I noticed something peculiar, one of the girls that most likely goes to the academy was staring to the forest next to the street I was walking, well not a forest more like a park from what I saw this weekend but yet she seemed really happy, the fog made it harder for me to see who was but as I got closer I notice the person clearly, it was the frog girl, Tsuyu.... Something...

"Hey frog miss" I shouted which caught her attention she stared at me with those wide eyes as her tongue was sticking out, even if her expression was rather a blank one she looked rather happy and lively right now. Once I got close I offer my umbrella to her "Need an umbrella? Don't wanna catch a cold now do you?" I said as I covered her from the rain

"Its fine, no need for that"

I shrugged letthing her be as I stared for a few seconds, a small silence happening "So... You are Tsuyu Asha right?"

"Tsuyu Asui Kero, But please call me Tsu"

"Apologies, still trying to learn everyone's names at class I been more focused on getting into a hero agency this days, from what Midnight told me you worked with the Oki mariners and Ryukyu agency, no idea about the first one, but the second one I am more interested in Ryukyu agency... How was it?"

"Hmmm couldn't tell really, it happened quite a few years ago it was a pleasant experience but why are you asking me this, are there no agencies at Nemo?"

"Well actually there aren't its different... Wanna walk to the academy as we speak?" She nodded at that as we made our way, she was hopping alongside me like an actual frog, her school outfit didn't help either, she really looked cute "Nemo its so closed that the agency is basically our emergency buildings such as police and firestations and so, in the process they also call heroes from the academy and the hero catalogue, since we don't want a population of heroes in an island to grow so much there is three process that are taken on account only 30 heroes may join per year, if a hero is lacking must take an exam again, if there is too much heroes doing great at the same time many of them are offered trips to other countries to help out..."

"Is that why you are here?"

"Hmmmm honestly yes and no, mostly no, but helping out its part of it..."

"I technically am in the catalogue of heroes back at Nemo but as I didn't have a license I was put in hold so not a legal hero, just one waiting to be legalized I guess which is dumb but now that I am out here they have been thinking of sending me my hero license, Lucius said its reaching either tonight or tomorrow, we can patrol the streets together if you want Tsu" I smiled at her

"I guess we really could once we know each other more, last time at the party I notice something odd about you"

"Oh sure what is up"

"You seem to have some sort of hatred to this place right? Want to say what is that about?"

"Sure, I don't care, my dad moved here 13 years ago and that's about it, barely visited me when growing up, but what I dislike the most is the fact this place got attacked so much these last few years that I thought I was going insane, Japan is much bigger than nemo sure, like 10 times bigger but it has more resources more heroes and yet all this happen, I have some sort of doubts about how heroing is done here"

"Hmmmmm I disagree heroes here have lost and done so much in their life always trying to help others if it wasn't for Midoriya or Bakugo most of us wouldn't be here, I personally can't say I did much"

"That's exactly it no offense, all at Nemo have stories of helping people doing great feats but here seems like the heroes are treated like D-tier, C-tier celebrities with exception of a selective few who just happen to have great quirks, not be great heroes"

"Are you saying they are great heroes due to quirks?" She sounded a bit upset

"Yes, sorry, but its not just that its the fact that this great quirks made the hero, but the hero wasn't made due to the person... You all seem like good people but I feel this talk about heroes just focuses on a selective few.."

"Midoriya didn't have powers before and yet he got to be the best hero of all time after defeating Shigaraki"

"Yeah yeah Mineta also glazed me the green boy, but if he had no powers would have he defeated the finger dude?Then again he also had the best powers from what I also investigated, made a loooot of investigation trust me... Mineta said he lost his powers what does he do now?"

"He is still Kero At the academy, a lot of exceptions have been given to him so he can stay and finish his studies, says he wants to be a quirk teacher like Aizawa sensei"

"So he did all his best before, before powers, to try and catch up to folks like you, bakugo and whoever did have them, nowadays he just doesn't? Got a taste of quirks lost them and wants to be a teacher, not a cop, not a firefighter, When I started I did lots of firefighter work, not a single villain or robber just purely works of helping people due to the island being super safe, going to sea and rescuing a few, 3-4 fires when there was an arsonist something about his mental state, not a single time my power was uself back then, now they are, by a lot, ten times fold, but back then it was awful feeling like a quirkless person but yet did my best as a hero, got a burnt scar but... Removed it with my powers, Wanna hear an uncalled for opinion, he got used to having powers and now that he lost them he forgot what a hero was, he did great before, sort of, others just put him in a pedestal and let him graduate and keep him there for all to see"

"He still saved lots of people and inspired many of us"

"Yes... Like two... three years ago? I won't say what could've been done better, but how about you... You must have done great too right"

"I did my best many times, but my quirk wasn't made to do things like they did"

"And here you were saying quirks don't make the hero... Now says who? So the guys with good quirks do the heavy lifting and we should focus on them, your story matters too, that's why I didn't ask any of the big three nor Izuku nor that other guy the explosion guy, about their agencies because they receive special treatment, I came to others like you because I want to hear real hero struggles, I see you as a hero I hope that you become better everyday, that's all, maybe this special treatment shouldn't be special no more, why don't we aim for number 1 heroes like All might"

"I am... Fine where I am right now Kero"

"You are fine... But that's what you are used to you could be better and I don't mean a hero or a stupid dumbass depressing rating that makes you go ahead and start beating up your children and wife because you are not number one, I mean you can be a better person, the person you are meant to be, Nemo taught us to be as superior as we could, not to others but to ourselves, our yesterdays, so yeah that's why I am a bit pissed off... This passiveness is not something I was taught"

"Maybe you could learn a thing or two from us as well"

"We will see..."

As we arrived the entrance she stood up looking up at the rain that was starting to clear, I decided to speak to her staring up at the sky as well "Rainy Season Hero Froppy right? You must really like the rain, is it the animal instincts I suppose?"

"Something like that, rain makes me feel happier, more active... Guess it has something to do about that"

"Well maybe next time I should go without an umbrella" Then I smiled as I turned to look at her before suddenly grabbing her and pulling her onto an alley behind school she was alerted as she tried to push me away thinking I was about to do something weird or bad to her "Sorry, but you might wanna wait before entering"

"Kero?" She tilted her head as I pulled out my gym clothes out of my backpack

"Your uh... Shirt... Let's just say you forgot something underneath and even then" She looked down before panicking quickly turning around to cover herself as she faced the wall, while I handed her my shirt

"Th-thank you" She slowly grabbed my gym sweater

"Didn't stare much don't worry, not to make you feel upset or weird alright, I won't tell its fine"

"Thank you... Give me a moment" She put on my shirt noticing how spacious it was wide speaking and slightly a bit longer than her shirt

"Hmmmm You look very cute like that" I smiled as I gave her a thumbs up

"Don't say weird things"

"Hey I mean it! You can give me the clothes tomorrow alright? Let's get going I don't wanna be late to my first class"

She followed walking behind me looking at the large gym sweater grabbing it for a moment before smelling it, it smelled quite nice almost like cinnamon but the essence of me was well imprinted in there.

We made our way upstairs getting inside the classroom right on time sitting on the first and only empty seat everyone seemed to be talking as I looked around others looking at my direction and waving with exception of mineta who was giving me double thumbs up as if he was my ally, I simply cringed as I saw him I really should have a talk with him, the teacher Shota Aizawa made his way onto the classroom he didn't put me to say my name nor explain my quirk nor none of those awkward presentations and I am happy with that to be honest, was not in the mood for it.

There were very normal classes the first two hours, basic math at first, precalculus and calculus I from what I could see they mixed up a little by adding hero problems to it as if most of the people here were to think the inclination angle from one hero to a villain to dive to them safely or something... Then a japanese language assessment, which I thought I had pretty much in the bag but this Ojiro guy, the guy with a tail sitting next to me corrected my accent like four times which got me a bit pissed off not going to lie.

As I waited for the next class to start I simply went out to have a drink from one of the vending machines as I was approached by the hard rock guy, Kirishima so decided to be friendly and wave hello at him. "Zup" Its the only thing I said as I drank some water.

"Hey Jack! I was wondering if perhaps at lunch we could go to the school's gym or maybe the tracking race, its not so far from here, back of the school big open place"

"Hm? I suppose, this is for your fighting session correct? The one that you asked a few days ago"

"Heh yeah! What would you like however? Quirk or quirkless brawl"

"Quirkless I would rather not use my powers without any need and get in trouble, once more it would not be good for me to start using my powers around when I came to leave a good name for Nemo island" Also didn't want any unneeded attention

"You got it dude! See you in modern world hero history"

"You have a class called world hero history but you don't know heroes outside Japan?"

"To be honest I don't pay attention to classes! But if you wanna talk about heroes you should try deku, he is always talking about heroes"

"Who is deku?"

"Oh right that's his nickname, Izuku Midoriya, green hair guy"

"Oh that guy" I sighed... "Wait doesn't deku mean something around doll?"

"Oh yeah but its like a very long story, he likes being called deku"

"... Right? I will go to class now"

"Sure dude"

As I made my way back to class I noticed Tsuyu on her own outside of the classroom looking at those doing P.E so I approached to have a nice talk with her "Hey Tsu, thinking about something?" I said casually

She just shook her head "Not much it has been a calm day"

"Well how's the clothes? Fitting nicely?"

She seemed to look away hiding her blushed and nods lightly "... The others noticed it wasn't mine"

"Wasn't yours?"

"The shirt I mean Kero"

"Oh... And? Is it like a Japanese insult tradition or something to not have your own gym clothes?"

"No, they are just teasing me about it, thinking that you might like me"

"Well so far you are the one I like the most so" I shrugged

"Not that type of liking"

"I know what you meant and I know what I said"

"... Sorry? Kero" She looked back at me with a worried and a bit surprised look for a brief moment breaking her usual cold and blank froggy expression

"Woop teacher is here" I pointed at Midnight, who was still very much alive, entering the classroom "Hey talk later alright? Wanna make good first impressions"

Tsuyu was just standing there with her own thoughts something really dangerous after what I said to her.
