April 10th: Evening

We eventually returned home.

"Damn, to think they'd be that much traffic," said Sojiro. "What a waste if time. I wasn't able to open the cafe today."

"I can see why you want me to take the subway," I said. "Is traffic normally like this?"

"Not this often but all these accidents have been screwing everything up, lately. Whatever, just head upstairs," Sojiro commanded curtly. "There's something I need to give to you."

We went into the attic. Sojiro was reading the news on his phone.

"Talk about a gruesome accident," he said. "Eighty people were involved."

Sojiro slipped his phone back in his pocket and grabbed something else, "Here's a diary. Make sure you keep it up to date. You may be under probation but there's no special limitations on what you do in particular. Besides following the law, that is. However, I'm obligated to report on you, which is why I'm having you record your daily activities."

A buzzing sound was heard and Sojiro pulled out his phone.

"Hey, what's up?" he said. "I'm about to leave right now. Don't worry, I'll be there in no time. Uh huh, I'll see you soon."

I had never used a journal before, seeing no use for one, now I'm being **** to write in one.

Sojiro turned back to me, "Well, I'm off. I'll lock the place up, so do whatever you want for the rest of the night. Oh, but don't mess up my store. If something goes missing, I'll hand you straight over to the cops. You got school, tomorrow. You better head off to bed, alright?"

I picked up the diary Sojiro had left on the table. I should do as I'm told for now. I wrote down what happened today in my diary. I need to get up early tomorrow, I should get plenty of rest today. As I was about to go to bed, I heard the phone ring. I checked my phone to find the sound wasn't coming from there. I could hear it from downstairs. I went downstairs and found it was the yellow public phone that was ringing. I answered it not sure who was calling.

"Hey, it's me."

"Is this a prank call?" I asked.

"You seriously forgot my voice already? It's Sakura. Anyway, I closed up shop but forgot to flip the sign to "closed" when I left. It's too much trouble for me to come back just for that. Think you can do it for me?"

"Got it." I replied, fighting back a yawn.

"It's a personal policy of mine not to save a guy's number in my phone."

He really doesn't want people thinking he's gay.

"Anyway, I'll leave the shop sign to you." said Sojiro.

After Sojiro hung up, I went outside, flipped the sign to "closed" and went back in.

I went back to my attic and looked at my phone to the route I'd have to take to get to Shujin tomorrow.

I needed to take the train to school. I was in Yongen-Jaya and the school was in Aoyama-Itchome so I'd have go to Shibuya and transfer there. I looked at the news about the subway accident. It sounded like a lot of people were hurt. I bet this would affect the timetables for tomorrow too. The strange app from last night was back. I deleted it twice already but it keeps showing up. I moved it the trash bin again. I should probably reboot my phone just in case. My eyelids started to get heavy.
