Apollo had always been a very mature person. Despite his insecurities, he tried his best to look past what people said and think about their sides of issues, to resolve things like an adult. If he was still his normal, male, Apollo-self, he would have accepted Trucy's words, understanding that he had hurt her and give her time and space to come to terms with things. It would be difficult, especially because Trucy was so close to him, but her feelings were valid and he wouldn't want to make her feel otherwise.
