Aphrodite Visits Paradise Island

This happened only a few years before Diana would leave Paradise Island to fight evil in Man's World. At this time, she wasn't Wonder Woman just yet, but as the Queen's daughter, she enjoyed a good life among her fellow Amazons.

Still, there are a finite amount of things you could do on an isolated island, and by the time she turned 21 years of age, she had done pretty much all of it. As much as she loved her mothers and her home, Diana couldn't help but yearn to do something more. Luckily, things would change a bit for her soon.

It was mid-morning when it happened. Diana was riding on her favorite kangaroo along the shore. She was wearing a simple, blue tunic with sandals, ideal for riding. Suddenly, she saw a strange violet light descend from the sky. It made a path towards a nearby temple, and Diana quickly followed.

Upon arriving, she immediately recognized the place where it landed as the Temple of Aphrodite, where Amazons often paid tribute to the Goddess of Love. Looking around, Diana saw many of her Sisters gathering inside the temple. She dismounted her kangaroo, and joined them.

As soon as she was inside, she was awestruck by what she saw: standing in the center of the room was a beautiful, nude woman, with long, flowing auburn hair and a necklace made from tiny seashells. Diana understood almost immediately who this was, and her fellow Amazons did so too, for they were already on their knees, paying their respects to their Goddess.

Aphrodite smiled at her worshipers, before turning to Diana and gave her a cheerful “Hello, Diana.”
