Aphrodite Awakens

Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love and beauty.

The gods had grown tired of Aphrodite's pettiness and jealousy. Any time a mortal woman was praised for her beauty, a jealous Aphrodite would curse the woman. Sometimes the curse would take away the woman's beauty, sometimes the woman would transform into a hideous beast, and sometimes the woman would be killed.

The gods trapped Aphrodite in an urn. As long as the urn was empty, Aphrodite was trapped. The urn was hidden under the Parthenon, but had been recently unearthed, but an unscrupulous archaelogist had switched the real one with a fake. Due to a series of events, the real one ended up on a Hollywood set, the production company convinced it was a replica. It ended up in the trailer of a one of the stars. She having seen it and demanded it be in her trailer until it was needed.
