Chapter 4 by zzrol zzrol

Answer her.

Answer honestly.

"I'm feeling a little anxious," you say. "I'm not even sure what the actual procedure is."

"Honestly. Much better," she says. You can sense her approval and it feels surprisingly rewarding.

Still standing over you, she explains. "The procedure is based on the idea that your mind can heal itself, given sufficient endorphins. The difficult part is coaxing yourself into making the endorphins. Exercise is a reliable way to do produce endorphins, but what do you do if you do not have the motivation to exercise? A Catch-22. So the purpose of this procedure is to give you a head-start with endorphins. Flood the system so that you can carry that momentum forward into your life."

She moves away to the cabinets, pulling out some strange looking tools. A prod. A small wheel with sharp edges and a handle. A feather?

"Oh," you say. You notice she didn't actually say what the procedure was.

"Now," she says, "we are going to coax your body into making those endorphins. Please sit back for me."

What do you do?
