Another round of Bimbo Juice, Xtra Lite

While the other type buttons tempt you (especially that SLUT button...), you're hesitant to push them. What if you change something and the pink-ificatoin doesn't happen again?

Minimal changes. Step by step. That's the scientific method. Yutong would be proud if she could see into your head.

You glance between your friends. Your eyes linger on Jane, and you briefly imagine her with blonde hair, but you **** it out of your mind. No, you like redheads! You **** yourself to turn to Pearl. "You said it was good?"

Pearl nods vehemently. "And I don't even like bubblegum."

If you can't replicate the results, none of the rest of this matters.

"Let's keep it coming then," you say, mashing the pour button without touching any other switch or dial on the Juicer.

The machine rumbles and produces an identical silver can of Bimbo Juice Xtra Lite. You pluck the searingly cold can out of the dispenser and casually offer it to Yutong. She'd want to do this for science, right?

"I remember this brand," you lie. "It was supposed to be a flavor girls were really into."

"Gender-specfic soft drinks?" Yu is intrigued by the concept. "That doesn't sound like a good marketing plan at all." Nonetheless, she takes the can, pops it open, and takes a sip.

Like Pearl, after Yu gets a taste and has time to think about it, she requires a second sip. A sip turns into a small gulp, and soon Yu's chugging the whole can of Bimbo Juice Xtra Lite like it's going out of style, eyes wide in surprise.

"Woah, slow it down, Yu," warns Jane, concerned.

Pearl chuckles, unsurprised. "Like I said. It's liquid crack."

As with Pearl, the more Yutong drinks, the more she begins to change.

Yu's red Nintendo shirt, with Nintendo's logo printed over the chest, brightens to pink. Her jeans bleach out from denim blue to a bright white, and her nondescript gray sneakers colorshift into a girly pink color scheme.

Yutong's Chinese-black hair color shifts along with her clothing. The blue streak in her hair changes to bubblegum pink, and the rest of her hair lightens from black, to brown, to dirty blonde.

Even her glasses - silver before - now sport pinkish frames.

Colorshifted Yu smacks her lips, and burps. "Wow!"

Nobody reacts to her changed color palette besides you. "Wow," you say. So it wasn't a fluke.

Blonde and pink Pearl scoffs at you. "What are you wowing at? You didn't even try any."

You gawk between Pearl and Yutong. Pink and white. It looks like they dressed this way on purpose, to coordinate.

"Yu, by the way, is your hair..."

Yu looks embarrassed. "I dye it..."

That makes sense. Or does it? "What about you, Pearl?"

"No, I'm not a natural blonde, so what?" asks Pearl, frowning. "Why the sudden interest?"

Luckily, Jane steps up and interrupts. "Can I try a can?"

"Ooh. Me too," says Indy, also getting in line.

Not the distraction you wanted. "Uh." Unable to invent an excuse for why Jane and Indy shouldn't try the drink, you succumb to pressure and fill two more cans for the girls.

"Bubblegum soda, huh?" asks Jane, taking a breath and taking a sip.

"They have flavors like this in Korea," says Indigo, smiling and knocking back her own can.

They both drain their cans, and their color palettes morph accordingly.

Jane's beanie turns white, and her orange-red pixie flames out to a spectacular platinum blonde - though her freckles, thankfully, remain dusting her cheeks and shoulders. Her tank top turns white, her denim shorts turn a dusty pastel pink, and her Converse bleach out to pure white as well. Even her skateboard (which she's been zooming around on intermittently during the rave) turns colors, with the flaming shark wrap turning into pink sharks engulfed white flames.

Next to Jane, Indigo undergoes a similar transformation. The dark-skinned girl's black leggings and t-shirt go white. Like Yu, her short-shorn textured hair goes a dirty, sandy blonde.

"Mmm, that was good stuff!" declares blonde Indy, licking her lips and peering into her can to see if there's any left

"Wouldn't mind buying a six-pack of these," says blonde Jane, crunching the can flat between her hands.

Your four female friends look like they're part of a Barbie playset, now. White, blonde, pink. You marvel at them all. And they don't even notice.

"Sully, try one!" says blonde Indy, smiling and shaking her can temptingly at Sully.

"I am not drinking anything that comes from a can labeled Bimbo Juice," says Sully, stubbornly folding his arms. "I'm a man. I have boundaries. That's just asking for your dick to fall off."

Blonde Yutong tut-tuts her football-player friend ."A major soda company can't ship sodas that make parts of people fall off."

Blonde Pearl eyes Yu. "Didn't you tell us the soda machine was poisonous?"

Yu blushes. "It... maybe it could still be poisonous..."

In a way, the Bimbo Juice was poison - poisonous to anyone who's not blonde.

But if this is possible with a few cans of soda... changing not only your friends' hair and aesthetic preferences, but also their memories of before.... what more is possible? Wisdom tells you to stop, but the magical thrill of watching real-life potions in action leaves you wanting to try more.
