Chapter 8

Will be some new oponent for Khala?
Another idiot to rob blind, or was it?
A huge half-orc approached Khala at the cards table, for a moment the half-elf thought it was a male, but the breasts upon the brownish green woman’s chest betrayed her gender. She had rippling muscles and was looking at Khala with a toothy (tusky?) grin.
‘You fleeced mage girl for all she had, little girl,’ the half-orc said in a gravelly voice for a female. ‘We see if you have what it takes to best Jaraka.’ The woman sat down at the table, putting her coin pouch down to show she wasn’t empty-handed.
Khala smirked, thinking confidently, that if she could beat a mage, a brawny half-orcess wouldn’t prove a challenge. She grinned at the newcomer, ‘If you are so eager to add your coin to my pile, be my guest.’
Khala dealt out their cards, as they started with a small bet to test the waters. Fortune favoured her: another two pair, smelling a chance at a quick victory.
The orc didn’t betray her displeasure or joy at her cards, only the same scowl on her brow. She matched Khala’s bet and then exchanged two cards.
Khala took a new card to complement her two pairs, but didn’t get a full house.
‘I increase bet,’ Jaraka said and threw another handful of coin on the pile.
Raising an eyebrow, Khala smiled, ‘I’ll match that.’
‘Show cards then, little girl,’ Jaraka said, revealing her cards. Three-of-a-kind tens.
Khala cursed, ‘Damn. That was luck. Again.’
The two played for quite a while longer. Khala stood nearly bare again at one point, and had to really concentrate on the game. Soon, Jaraka was losing, much to her despair. After losing all her money, her rippling muscles and breasts were slowly revealed to the other patrons with every hand played, her face flush with anger.
‘This is not right, you are cheating, half-elf,’ the half-orc jumped from her seat, only her loincloth protecting her modesty. She didn’t care, not even bothering to conceal her breast.
‘Am not! You can—aaagh!’ Khala protested and then cried out as the mostly naked half-orc rushed to her and grabbed her arm.
She twisted Khala’s wrist and several cards fell from the half-elf’s sleeve. Khala eyes went wide like saucers, she had not put those cards there, ‘What? No! I don’t—those aren’t mine!’
‘Not cheating, eh?’ Jaraka grinned at Khala, ‘But you are cute, I show you what half-orcs do with cheaters.’ She slung Khala over her shoulder, holding her tightly.
‘Let me down! Somebody help!’ Khala struggled but to no effect against Jaraka’s strong arms.
Jaraka called to the innkeeper, ‘Little cheater and I will take room, do not disturb, no matter what you hear. Gather coin from table and take price of room for self.’ She also turned to the room, ‘Dare take money and I will remove head from shoulders.’
They all gulped and went back to their own business.
The innkeeper meekly nodded and handed a key to her, ‘R-R-Room 7.’
Jaraka took it and headed up to the rooms with her prize struggling on her shoulder.
What did Jaraka have in store for the cheating half-elf?
