Another battle!

Not long after that first battle, I found myself in another battle, this time with an errant Pidgey that decided I would make a good meal. Thankfully, Bulbasaur was able to dispatch the bird Pokémon with relative ease, and yet again, I was victorious. So far, it seemed like I was really rocking this trainer thing! Capturing Pidgey meant I now had three Pokémon to fill out my team, even if two of them were currently very low on respective energy.

Route 1 was thankfully not as long as I had imagined, and before too long, the gates that led to Viridian were now within eyesight. I had made it to my first town after Pallet! I had only been to Viridian a handful of times when I was a child, and I knew there was a Gym here. Could I possibly defeat a leader with just Bulbasaur? It was kind of unlikely, but I didn't want to completely dismantle that idea when I arrived in the green city.
