Announcing the change

You spend much of the rest of the day watching the news, trying to figure out the best way to announce the new you, the new, evil Ringer. Of course, you don't want to go too far and become a madman who murders people or shoots puppies, but you want people to fear you, payback for turning their backs on their hero.

You're actually thinking about robbing a bank or museum and leaving your calling card to let it be known you're a criminal now, but you're not sure if those are the most effective options. No, you want people to pay attention immediately and be shocked.

Your stomach is growling as it's growing dark outside and you're about to turn the television off to go look for some food, when you see the scene of a special event on screen with a blue carpet. As far as you know, it's not award season, so the scene peaks your interest and you continue watching. The bottom of the screen states that this is a live broadcast from a charity benefit for the victims of the bombing in downtown New York at the Met, and the first person onto the blue carpet is the host and organizer, Anna Wintour.

The interviewer on screen proceeds to ask Anna why she's holding the benefit, and the iconic woman starts talking about giving back to the community and helping the families of the police officers who were killed in the bombing. It all seems fine to you, until the end where Anna looks directly into the camera, although still wearing those sunglasses she always has on, and she says, "And I'll say this to The Ringer. Being a hero is not easy. If you can't do it, don't get people's hopes up-"

Anna stops speaking on screen, because you've activated your magic ring to stop time. Seething in anger, you go to the kitchen to grab a knife and teleport to the Met on screen where you go directly to the carpet in front of Anna's feet and carve your signature symbol of 5 rings and the words "Get off my back, or else."

Once you're satisfied, you teleport back to your couch and let time resume, waiting to see Anna's reaction. She sees the words instantly and gasps, as does the interviewer, and the camera pans down to the floor where your message is zoomed in on and displayed on the screen. After a while, the camera goes back to Anna who clearly looks shaken, and the interviewer prompts her for a reaction.

The distinguished woman pauses for a deep breath and for a moment, it feels like she's going to burst into tears and run away from the cameras, but what she does instead surprises you. "Well, I'll say this again since The Ringer is apparently tuning in but too cowardly to show his face," Anna says through gritted teeth, sounding bolder with every word out of her mouth, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. You may have superpowers, but I'm Anna Wintour."
