Anja, a good friend.

You can't say Anja is your BFF or even a very close friend, but you've known her since kindergarten and you've had each other's back many times.

When you broke the large glass in your classroom in college after a heated argument involving chairs, she helped you sneak into the girls lavatories and hide while the other fools ran straight into the arms of the very angry teachers. Frankly, you threw the chair rather than get punched, but hey... people never realised that you'd been scared as hell.

When her teenage punk rock band got into a row with their South West High competitors, you and your brother (OK, mostly your brother... but she remembers your courageous involvement) kicked their scrawny goth asses.

When you wanted your first tattoo, she helped you figure out the best arguments to convince your parents. To be fair, "people who get tattooed under parental supervision are known to never give in to drunken tattoos" might not be entirely true, but you're certain this was the thing that tipped your Mom over to your side.

What matters most, though, is her sexual orientation. When she finally realised she was gay, she told her BFF, Mary. Who "only" told her boyfriend. Who told the whole High School. Many picked on her... until you stepped in. Well, you didn't physically threaten anyone, of course... but after years of your bro kicking butts when you asked, your word carries some weight. Two powerful fists, and those of his friends. Anja didn't get bullied for long. She remembers that, too.

You might have a hot temper and a certain disinclination to fight physical fights, but you can't let cheating or bullying go by. It is who you are, and while, for once, you're the target, you'll fight things as hard as if you defended someone else. After all, your bro's already helping out, right?
