Angelic intervention

As the dark lord/Matt laid gasping, Matt realized he felt more than just lust and desire for the woman in his arms. He felt, not love, but connection, intimacy, care, the fine line between trust and fear, he felt human because of her. The dark lord realized that something was wrong.

Lost in this moment, he heard shout from outside and his bedroom window filled with a soft light that penetrated him deeply. It burned but it freed him. Matt wept. The Dark lord screamed. His ring felt as if on fire. In his arms his consort Ashley also writhed in agony as her features gained life, her once too slender frame regaining some flesh and her ashen skin returning to a healthy shade. They clutched each other as the light made bare of what they were until a different darkness claimed them both.
