Andrew doesn't like the answer.

"That's a great idea!"

Andrew was unprepared for Maria's guileless enthusiasm. He had been agonizing over whether to talk to her for a few days. Finally he just barged into her room and asked if she was ok if her modified her.

Maria had been bent over examining a series of petri dishes under a heatlamp when he interrupted. He nodded towards them. "What is that?"

"Oh, that's sock smells," she said. "It's for one of my online businesses."

"Is it-"

"Yeah," she nodded and grinned. "There are some very specific odors that go for top dollar, and I've been trying to reproduce the results with different strains of bacteria and sweat composition."

"So you're making a dirty underwear factory," he said with a grimace. She laughed at his consternation.

"Man, you don't want to know how much I can get for a $18 walmart athletic bra teeming with this stuff. But you said you were gonna modify me?"

"I mean, I wanted to know if you're ok with it," he said.

"Of course!" she said. "Oh, this is one of those subjectivity things. So I guess you're thinking that would be unethical or something?"

"I mean, I'd be forcing another person to change against their will-"

"Not true," she interjected.

"But how can you freely choose to be **** to do something?"

Maria was nodding sympathetically. "Here, let's try something. I know you don't have a problem with modifiers, right?"

He shrugged. She started rifling through the small wallet of modifiers they had accumulated. "Did you know you can make a custom modifier based on a change you want to make? It lets you try out the change for a while without going to the trouble of modifying the script. Here, take a look at these."

She pushed over a pile of scripts and closed her eyes. Andrew looked over them while she sat by patiently.

"What do you think?" she said after a moment. "I like the obedience one, myself."

"What is this supposed to prove?" Andrew asked impatiently. "Do you think I'll like the modifications so much I'll just keep them?"

"No, that's just a secondary benefit," she said and booped him on the nose. "The main goal is to convince you can fuck around with my script a little and I'm still me. So show me one of those and-"
