Chapter 9

Later that night...
And the work is complete
Some time later and you find yourself yawning as you hit the pile one last time. The progress bar reaches full and you jerk in surprise as suddenly the Hunters Lodge that you’d viewed in the menu appears before you. It’s a simple building, hardly more than a shack with what looks to be some drying racks for meat and furs set up outside. The door stands ajar and you push it open to view the dim, moonlit interior. The floor is bare dirt and in the middle of the construction, beneath a small hole in the ceiling is a small pit with a bundle of wood arranged ready for a fire. To the left of the door against the wall is a small, simple cot: a simple wooden frame with a mat of flexible, woven bark making up the sleeping surface. There were also a couple of empty crates for storage.
It wasn’t much but it was a start, and most importantly it was yours.
Exhausted from the day and the tedium of bashing on a pile of wood with your bare hands for several hours you collapse on the cot. You stretch your small form out and groan softly as your muscles unkink from the hours you had sat building your new shelter. You’d sleep, soon. First though you opened your character sheet once more, grinning at the addition of your new name before seeing some newly added information.

You also notice a new page labeled Fame. Must be related to that new micro-boss feat. You open it.
Fame: 6
Defeated a hero: +2 Fame (Expand)
Shamed a hero: +4 Fame (Expand)
You leave off on expanding the information for now and look at the other options (greyed out for now) the page showed.
Evolve Form: 500 Fame, Must be at least level 10.
Wargen Packleader: 0/10 (Racial Ability): 10 Fame
“Packleader… I like the sound of that.” You murmur to yourself, allowing the window to close as sleep drifts closer. The promise of the future warms you and for once in your life you feel hope that things are changing. That maybe you won’t have to live a cycle of meaningless deaths for the rest of your existence. Thus comforted you drift into a deep and dreamless sleep.
Do you sleep through the night?
