Chapter 9 by Grif*end Grif*end

What does she say ?

And the truth shall set you free...?

Should she tell them ? The letter hinted of something serious going but without having actualy read the rulebook she had no idea what this "being true" was about, infact the letter itself could be a trap ment to mislead them and scare them, if that was the case then telling them was a bad idea infact even if that was not the case it might be in her best interest to keep the information to herself, information was power after all Shioko could have come with a lie and she was confident they hadn't see the letter so hiding it wound't be a problem but ultimately she decided against that idea.
Having to hide would limit her own options and right now she needed to know about the rules as well as finish the letter to get a better understanding of what was going on in addition her students might have something to contribute as well .

"To be honest." Shioko started talking as she took out the letter "I was curious about the game's technology and was trying to see if the rulebook said anything instead i found this.

Hello guys ! If you are reading this you must been done going over the rules so yeah let me get this out of the way, yes everything written on the guide is true not just colourful language.

Now you are probably wondering if that's the case "Why are you doing this ?" And the answer lies in the role you all played in the disbandment of the Game folklore club although you have likely forgotten about that so let me refresh your memory.

Aiko you used your position as the student's council accountant to manipulate the numbers and make it seem like the things we got cost way more to pocket the extra cash.

Tae, when you found about this instead of exposing your sister's corruption you decided to cover this up by making us take the fall. Yukimi i realise that out of everyone you are the least to blame acting on Tae's request but still you had promised to help us save the club and bailed at us the last possible moment and that betrayal hurt.

As for you Miyahara Sensei you were our advisor and i know you must had realised something was wrong but instead of helping us protect the club you did all you could to make our disbandment faster.

Now contrary to what you might think this is not about **** well no i guess i should say it's "mostly" not about **** or else i would had made sure you had a full grasp of the rules before the start of the game, still my goal here not to punish but to get you to experience a truly... excuse my pun, life changing game, you see i always regretted not trying to show you why you should had let our club be. I know it's naive to think you would had changed your mind but a part of me was hopeful that had i chosen the right game it would had moved atleast one of you and perhaps then the club would had been saved, now i realise that's just my own idle fantasy still i really wanted to get you to experience an amazing game and hear what you'd have to say about it.

To prove my sincerity let me tell you about some useful tips the rules don't mention

Number 1. Don't get a punishment i realise some of the cards you have gotten might seem like a punishment already but believe me they are bad what's more they don't just go away after beating the game.

Number 2. You might had realised but cards mainly use euphemisms to describe what they are about unfortunately they use euphemisms from all around the world so many might not make any sense to you so it's a good idea to have in mind what each card colour does, on that note

Tip number 3. Body, Features, Mind, Experiences, Personality and Goals in case you have problems figuring what each of them is about. Body : Generally has to do with with body shape aka height, weight, race, fat that kind of stuff oh but it can effect your hormone balance as well. Features: basically deal with anything concerning the face and it's structure as well as voice, birthmarks and some specific body traits, it can also effect uhh more private areas of the body. Mind: is all about compulsions and brain efficiency, personality messes with your likes, dislikes and can even go as far as effecting your values and the way you present yourself. Goals are pretty self explanatory. Now as for Experiences...no easy way to say this those are changes to past events and they could be anything, you might gain some skills out of it but that's not always the case.

Number 4. The cards will reveal details about their content at the end of each loop.

And finally number 5. Trust in the heart of the cards ! Not much of a tip i know but 4 is unluky and felt bad leaving at that.

P.S. The room you are in is a subspace that exist outside of time, this means that you won't be able to leave or contact the outside until the game is concluded but also no time passes so no need to worry about anything you might had scheduled.

After reading the letter Tae's mood had turned foul and her shoulders slumped she considered that event one of her biggest failures but she never imagined Kichiro knew

Yukimi had turned silent thinking about something.

As for the other two they had a faint recollection but did not seem too bothered and were going over the rules.

Finally after reading everything over Shioko spoke about her conclusion "After going through everything i think the letter is meant to be a prank Kida kun probably want to turn our own minds against us , after all if we think what the game does it will become "real" that said i don't think he was joking about us not being able to leave before finishing the game."

Aiko found herself agreeing but was a bit sceptical about the reward section those were part of the official rules so and it was weird she could understand the transformations being some sort of an after-game but what about the other stuff... Some inside joke perhaps?

As Aiko was thinking over those things, Shioko threw the die.

3

Her pawn made it's way to the Blue tile and she drew the corresponding card on it there was again the picture of some kind of cat and the title THIRSTY, with her new her guess was that the card was supposed to make her seem horny perhaps make it seem like she was flushed all the time she really was curious so she announced she would continue.

The blue light washed over her however much to her disappointment nothing seemed to have happened so she passed the dice to Yukimi.

What Shioko had failed to realize was that the big cat in the picture was a cougar if she had she might had been able to figure out that the card had just awakenined in her a deep desire for younger men, then again she truly came to the conclusion this was just an advanced game so she'd likely would had rejected the notion it could affect her in such a way.

Yukimi's second turn
