The Typhon followed Cindi into the light of the surface world. It had been decades since he had fled underground, and their help was essential. Mostly hers. Did they really need Aunt Kat? No. Cindi knew her love- the word seemed insufficient, like a describing a sunset to someone who had only seen a candle -her glorious soulmate preferred for them to get along. So she did. Mostly. They'd waited beneath the surface, gorging on Agnetti's corpse for hours, more than enough time to establish a hierarchy He loved her best, she knew he did, but if he wanted her to put up with that old hag she would. She lowered a hand to her growing belly. She couldn't afford to be, not now that she was starting a family.

Cindi knelt before her beloved, his radiance clear to the dozen or so women he'd enlightened on Thiidian, they were the chosen few. In truth there were more that they had wanted to take, promised even, but the ship was so small. Cindi had seen what happened to those girls who were denied a blessing for more than a few days. She shuddered, not that it would ever happen to her. She was loved, not like those girls. The Typhon was holding a struggling young woman with dark blonde hair, her screams excited him. She knew that. Just as she knew that it was wrong to resist him. Didn't this girl understand that he was sharing his love with her? They were going to spread across the galaxy.
