Ancient dark awakens

Chapter 12 by bryce193 bryce193

As their mouths meet, his hands roaming her body, Bryce strips naked and thrusts into Cortney's vampiric cunt. The sensation is electric, their bodies moving in perfect sync. Her legs wrap around him, pulling him deeper, her fangs still buried in his shoulder. He groans, the pleasure almost too much to bear, and begins to move, each thrust sending waves of ecstasy through them both. The room fills with their sounds—whispers of pleasure, the wet sounds of their coupling, the occasional hiss of fangs meeting flesh. Cortney's nails dig into his back as she arches, her body accepting him fully. "Yes," she breathes, her voice a ragged whisper. "This is what I wanted." Bryce answers by driving deeper, their blood mingling as they feed from each other, the bond between them growing stronger with each passing moment. The night stretches on, the moon watching as they lose themselves in each other, two vampires discovering the depths of their new existence together.

They lie tangled together, breathless, the taste of each other's blood still fresh on their tongues. Cortney traces a finger along Bryce's jaw, her eyes half-lidded with satisfaction. "That was..." she begins, but a sound cuts her off—a sharp rap at the door. Then another. Then the door splinters inward, torn from its hinges. Alexander stands in the doorway, his eyes blazing crimson. Behind him, the hallway is dark, empty. He's alone. His gaze sweeps the room, taking in the scene before him: Cortney, naked, sprawled across the bed; Bryce, equally bare, rising to meet the intrusion. "I felt a shift," Alexander says, his voice low and dangerous. "A new bond forming. I should have known." He steps into the room, the broken door creaking under his weight. "You've been busy, Cortney. I thought our nights meant something." Cortney sits up, unashamed, her hair falling around her shoulders. "They did. They do. But this is different, Alexander. Bryce is... he's one of us now. I wanted to welcome him properly." Alexander's jaw tightens. "You wanted to claim him for yourself." He turns to Bryce, assessing him with cold, ancient eyes. "And you. You've been a vampire for less than a week, and already you're bedding my progeny, drinking from her, binding yourself to her." Bryce meets his gaze, unflinching. "She offered. I accepted. That's how this works, isn't it?" The tension in the room is palpable, thick as blood. Alexander takes another step forward, his hands curling into fists. "You have no idea what you've done. The bond you've started to form—it's not just pleasure. It's power. And power has consequences." He stops at the foot of the bed, looking down at them. "You've awakened something that should have remained dormant. Now we all have to deal with it." Cortney stands, walking to Alexander, placing a hand on his chest. "Don't be angry. This is what you wanted, isn't it? A coven of equals, bound by blood." Alexander's expression softens, just slightly. "Yes. But you should have told me." He looks past her to Bryce. "Get dressed. We need to talk. All three of us." Without waiting for a response, he turns and strides out of the apartment, his footsteps echoing in the hallway. Cortney looks back at Bryce, a mix of apology and excitement in her eyes. "I told you he'd sense it. Come. There's much to discuss."

Bryce pulls on his clothes, his movements quick but deliberate. Cortney dresses with equal haste, her eyes meeting his in the dim light. "He's not going to kill us," she says, though it sounds more like a question than a statement. "Probably not," Bryce replies, and they share a brief, tense smile before following Alexander into the night. They find him waiting on the rooftop of Cortney's building, his silhouette stark against the moonlit sky. He doesn't turn when they approach. "The bond you've started," he says, his voice carrying on the wind, "it's older than any coven. Older than our kind, even. It's called a blood oath—a merging of essence that ties two vampires together in ways that go beyond feeding or pleasure. It was forbidden for centuries because of what it awakens." He finally turns, his eyes still crimson but calmer now. "But I felt it the moment you began. And so did others." "Others?" Bryce asks. "The ancient ones. The ones who sleep beneath the city, waiting for a call that hasn't been sounded in millennia." Alexander's expression is grave. "And Desiree." Cortney stiffens. "Desiree? She's at her castle on tge colloge campus, were bryce was turned right." "Yes. And she felt it too." Alexander gestures toward the horizon, where the castle's spires are just visible against the dark sky. "She's waiting for us. And she's not pleased." They travel through the night, moving faster than humans could ever dream, the city blurring around them. When they reach the castle, the gates are open, the courtyard empty. Candles flicker in the great hall, casting long shadows on the stone walls. Desiree stands at the far end, her back to them, her silhouette rigid with tension. Stephanie is beside her, her expression unreadable. "You felt it," Alexander says, his voice echoing in the vast space. Desiree turns, and her eyes are cold, ancient, furious. "Felt it? I felt a tremor in the very fabric of our existence." Her gaze lands on Bryce, then Cortney, and her lips curl into something between a snarl and a smile. "You've been busy, little ones. You've started a blood oath without the permission of the covens. Without my permission." She steps forward, her heels clicking on the stone floor. "Do you have any idea what you've done?" "We were just—" Cortney begins. "Just what?" Desiree interrupts, her voice rising. "Just bonding? Just sharing pleasure? That bond is sacred. It binds not just two vampires, but their power, their lineage, their very souls. And you forged it in a cheap apartment, without ritual, without preparation, without the consent of those who have ruled this coven for centuries." She stops inches from Bryce, her eyes boring into his. "You are barely a week old, and already you've upset a balance that has held for a hundred years." Bryce holds her gaze, though every instinct tells him to look away. "I didn't know." "Of course you didn't know. That's the problem." Desiree turns, pacing before them like a predator sizing up its prey. "This bond cannot be undone. It will grow stronger with each passing night, tying you and Cortney together in ways you cannot yet comprehend. And it will draw attention. Old attention. The kind that sleeps in the earth and dreams of blood...of a world in choas as vampired dont just turn humsmans, but the inlucky become feral slaves ..a ghoul..that fucks and drains its victims completely, turning them into ghouls themselves...a new dark ages may be upon us cause of you two" Stephanie speaks for the first time, her voice soft. "What do we do?" Desiree stops pacing. She looks at Alexander, then at Bryce and Cortney, and finally at Stephanie. "We prepare. We fortify. And we pray that what has awakened does not wake fully." She turns back to Bryce, her expression softening just slightly. "You are mine, Bryce, You were turned by my coven, by my will. And now you carry a bond that marks you as something more. We will have to teach you what that means, whether you're ready or not." The candles flicker as a cold wind sweeps through the hall, and somewhere deep beneath the castle, something stirs in the darkness...a figure, male, ancient. Possibly more ancient then Alexander, Morgana and Desiree.

All of them feel it. A pulse of power, ancient and cold, rising from the depths of the castle. The candles gutter and nearly die before flaring back to life, casting wild, dancing shadows across the stone walls. Desiree's face goes pale, a rarity for a vampire of her age. "No," she whispers. "It cannot be. He was sealed. Bound by blood and iron a thousand years ago." Alexander steps forward, his hand moving to the hilt of a blade hidden beneath his coat. "Who is it, Desiree? What have you kept from us?" Before she can answer, the floor beneath them trembles. Cracks spider across the ancient stone, and from the fissures seeps a faint, crimson mist. The temperature in the hall drops sharply, and each of them can see their breath misting in the air—an impossibility for the undead. Bryce feels Cortney's hand find his, their blood oath pulsing in unison. Through their bond, he senses her fear, but also her strength. Together, they feel something else: a pull, a recognition. The ancient below knows them. It knows the oath they have sworn. A voice, dry as dust and cold as the grave, echoes up through the cracks in the floor. "So... a new bond is forged. Fresh blood calls to old....and soon you both become mine.as i make you more then just vampire..like me" Desiree backs away, her composure cracking. "No. You should not be awake. The seals were meant to hold for another century." The voice laughs, a sound like grinding stones. "Seals weaken. Blood calls. And this one..." The presence focuses on Bryce, and he feels an invisible pressure against his skull, probing, tasting. "...this one carries something special. A spark. A will that refused to break even when the turning took him." Stephanie moves to stand beside Desiree, her red eyes glowing brighter. "What do we do?" Desiree's jaw tightens. She looks at Bryce, and he sees something new in her ancient gaze: fear, yes, but also calculation. "We go down. We face him. And we pray that the bond you two share can be used as a weapon, not a weakness." Alexander draws his blade fully, the silver edge gleaming with a faint, runic inscription. "Then let us not keep him waiting." The group moves as one toward the spiral staircase that descends into the castle's forgotten depths. Bryce and Cortney follow, their hands clasped, their oath burning bright against the encroaching darkness. Below them, the ancient thing stirs, hungry and patient, and the real nightmare of the shiki begins.
