An unnerving talk with Dr. King

Gunnar tried to remain at least outwardly calm as he chatted with Dr. King, yet he was in fact worried by what he was hearing.

"I took the liberty of checking of some of those topics you mentioned from your dream. Do you realize that 'network sapiens' and "Homo zarbaibai' are both real? What's more, there's just been a buzz about them in the past few days; your coma clearly predates them. Are you sure you haven't been on a phone with someone, or had access to a computer?" Dr. King frowned as Gunnar shook his head. "I personally don't believe in ESP, mental telepathy, anything like that -- but if what you say is true, maybe you have sensitivity of a kind we usually don't deal with. But I'll tell you what ... why don't I give you a couple of numbers for future reference, once you get out of here." He handed Gunnar two cards. "That one's the sexual specialist ... like we discussed earlier ... and then I want you to see this specialist if the dreams persist."

Gunnar sighed. Here he was, getting offered help for what he had simply described as a "strange anonymous voice." He had to wonder how concerned Dr. King would be if he had told him the voice's self-proclaimed identity.

"You'll be out of here soon -- but your case has generated some interest, and it seems there's a TV news team here ... "
