An overview of Dathomir

Inside her palace you all sit around a huge table, Ranvi is sitting next to her. You are served food and drink.

Talzin: Please, eat, drink, whatever you feel like. I don't want my honoured guests to have any needs unanswered.

Lana: Thank you, Mother Talzin. This is most kind of you!

Talzin: You are Jedi, my sisters don't appreciate your presence on this planet, as you must have realised by now.

Drek: Yes, we have kind of done that.

Talzin: However, Ranvi enjoys my unconditional trust, and if you are her trusted friends, I have no reason why not to receive you with friendship.

Ranvi Thank you mother, this is most welcomed! I had thought you might be angry with me for bringing them here...

Talzin: Their arrival was most... Unexpected, if I may say for most of us. Though, I have foreseen this, so I wasn't surprised by them.

Drek: Foreseen it?

Talzin: Yes my child, we, the nightsisters possess **** powers neither the Jedi, nor the Sith can comprehend. But I assume Ranvi has told you all about it already.

Lana: She has told us many things, it seems learning this magic, grants its user limitless power.

Talzin: Its only limits are the **** itself and the person's knowledge using it. No other limits beside these two. Ranvi here is a most gifted one! Her **** sensitivity was so strong, even the Jedi could sense it. Her natural strength caused her to be taken from us and become a member of your order, for better or worse...

Drek: Or worse...?

Talzin: The Jedi tend to restrain the natural flow of the ****, to use it as they see fit for their views. The Sith do the same, just with different views. We however, allow it to reach its full potential. We study the **** without any restrictions! Sometimes we allow it to flow unhindered, sometimes we **** it to serve our will... With it we could create and take away life, if that is our goal...

Lana: You could create life...?

Talzin: Yes, but that requires many years of training and only the most learned ones of us may use it. For now, I am the only one with that knowledge in our tribe. There are only a very few of my sisters with enough **** sensitivity, who may be able to learn this ability in time... But that is entirely up to them.

Drek: I haven't seen any males around here... Are there any...?

Talzin: The males, the nightbrothers, are kept in separate villages far from here. We, the nightsisters, rule the planet, their only purpose here is to mate with us, when we select a worthy one for the cause. Besides the necessary sustaining of our numbers, they may do whatever they want in their villages. We do not care about them, is most cases.

Lana: Most cases?

Talzin: Aren't you a bit too curious, young one?

Lana: Forgive me, Mother Talzin. With all due respect, I suppose you weren't just going to teach us about Dathomir, were you...?

Talzin: Indeed, I had other plans in my mind...

Ranvi: You haven't told me about these plans either, mother.

Talzin: There are things I cannot tell you just now. You must earn the right to know of them.

Drek: Earn the right? How?

Talzin: I will let you know when you are ready. I sense neither of you are ordinary Jedi. The dark side surrounds you just as much as the light...

Drek: Yes, the reason for it is that...

Talzin: I do know the reason child, no need to explain it. That is one of the reasons you were allowed in here. We might help each other out... Should I find you worthy.

Ranvi: Mother, what is it that you mean?

Talzin: You will understand it all my child. In time. But for now... Your first test should be done.

Lana: Test? Here...? Now...?

Talzin: For some of our potions to enhance our **** abilities, we require rare ingredients, that are hard to come by. One such is a rare blue flower, that only grows in the Swamp of Suffering. I require you to obtain two of that flower and bring it back to me. Then, I will consider further cooperation with you, Jedi.

Ranvi: Mother, why is this necessary?

Talzin: I have to find out if your friends are truly as useful for our cause as I had imagined them. Only through them, may my **** finally succeed and destroy the person I hate the most...

Ranvi: What do you mean mother? I can't follow...!

Talzin: You will understand all, just as I said you will. With patience. And, if your friends will succeed, of course.

Ranvi: I am going with them!

Talzin: Ranvi my dear, there is absolutely no need for you to go. You have no need for proving anything as my heir.

Ranvi: I don't want to inherit anything without having to work for it! I am going with them, mother!

Talzin: So be it. It will be three flowers than. The path will not be easy, whatever you may encounter there, you will be on your own. Ranvi, do not perish there! You are the future of the clan.

Ranvi: If my friends are going to be sent there, so am I. My fate is linked to theirs.

Talzin: I know my child, I can sense the connection between you three. It is something one can rarely feel... If I may have a word with you, in private...

You and Drek leave the room and wait for her outside.

Drek: Swamp of Suffering... That gives me chills!

Lana: Yes, not the most welcoming named place I would want to visit on my first time here... But we don't really seem to get to choose!

Meanwhile in the room:

Ranvi: What is it you wanted to tell me, mother?

Talzin: Ranvi, I have felt your deep connection to your friends... It is a good thing to have others who could be so close to you. But do not forget, you are a nightsister primarily, you are only a Jedi as long as you haven't replaced me here! What would became of your friends once you abandon the Jedi?

Ranvi: They will understand... When the time comes, which will come many many years later, they will understand.... They will understand...

Tazlin: You yourself aren't so sure about it. Maybe you shouldn't allow them to be so close to you... Especially... That boy...

Ranvi: Why?!

Talzin: I can feel you... care... for him. He is special to you.

Ranvi: This isn't what it...!

Ranvi (turning around and waking to the door): I don't want to discuss this any further mother! I am leaving with them to gather those stupid flowers!

Talzin: Ranvi! Remember the things I have said! You have a responsibility as the future matriarch, act like one!

She stops for a second, but doesn't say anything, before she continues and exits the room.

Talzin (to herself): Don't make me question the prophecy my child... You and your friends will be the key, to finally rid the galaxy from the Jedi and the Sith, once and for all... But until that, you all have so much left to learn. We shall see if the prophecy was correct and one of you three is the Jedi who could be controlling both the light and the dark side of the ****. The one, who will destroy the last of the Jedi and the Sith to finally bring the long awaited balance to the ****.
