Chapter 2
by DubiousSintax
Mark meets...
An older woman
Mark stared in stunned silence at the woman looking back at him, his brain struggling to catch up to his situation. Her voice finally snapped him out of his momentary stupor.
"Whatever are you doing boy?" she snapped, her tone stern but smooth, almost slightly posh. Despite her apparent annoyance there was a flicker of a smirk at the edge of her lips that suggested she found the sight of Mark amusing. Mark felt his face flush hot as he realised his error, stammering slightly before finding a response.
"Shit! Sorry! I um, live upstairs..." he said, glancing back over his shoulder at the staircase before continuing, "Must have gotten mixed up... uh sorry to bother you."
The woman pursed her lips and shook her head with a look of disapproval. "Excuse me..." she drawled, admonishment clear in her voice.
Mark's cheeks reddened and he paused for a moment to better choose his words. In that moment he finally took a proper look at her. She was older, maybe in her early fifties, and about half a foot shorter than Mark. Her dark hair was cut in a bob, framing her features which despite a few lines and wrinkles, were far from unattractive. She wore glasses which seemed to make her eyes appear slightly larger, accentuating her piercing gaze and on her full lips she wore a dark shade of lipstick. Her full figure was draped in a robe, or perhaps a kimono of thin, silky looking material that ended just below the knee and bore a floral pattern in red and black. Her feet were bare, her toenails painted in the same dark shade as her lips and Mark couldn't help but notice that her calves were quite shapely, even if a little plump.
Mark soaked in her figure, his gaze lingering noticably as he admired her sizable chest and wide hips, his drunken ogling mercifully interrupted by a sharp bark that echoed loudly through the stairwell. The woman clicked her tongue at the small dog that had appeared at her feet and it immediately fell quiet and scurried back inside.
"Come," said the woman curtly, opening the door wider. "Otherwise you will wake the whole building."
Mark did not even consider refusing, the woman's tone brooked no argument and so it was he stepped into his neighbour's apartment, eyes drawn to the features that differed from his own as he heard the door quietly click shut behind him.
Can Mark win her over?
Meeting the neighbours
